2018 was a strange year

Salman's solo release bombed at the box office (Race3)

Aamir's Solo Diwali release bombed at the box office (Thugs of Hindustan)

Shahrukh's Solo Christmas release bombed at the box office (zero)

All three films under performed badly (especially zero and Thugs), all 3 films had bad reviews, all 3 films had bad WOM

On the other hand;

Rambir broke multiple records and got the highest grossing film of the year in Sanju

Ranveer hit the jackpot in two blockbusters in Padmavaati and Simmba

But what made me create this topic isn't about the box office, it;s about this forum and the topics/activity over the past year

Khan topics are the biggest replies pillar anymore, in fact the Khan topics barely get over 10 pages here on If,

Srk is finished topics have Salman fans sticking up for him, and vice versa. that's how bad things are for the khans, all 3 Khan fan groups are sticking together

Ranveer/Rambir topics on the other hand? ATTB, 20 PAGES + guaranteed.

Rambir vs Ranveer is the new Salman vs Shahrukh and I believe the tide has changed

2019 should be an interesting yea indeed.

SRK's era has been over for quite some time now honestly but Aamir and Salman aren't going anywhere..one lackluster year doesn't mean anything really.

Ranveer is certainly on a roll so he has good chances to take over but I'm not really sure about Ranbir..he mostly just delivered flops for many years until Sanju. He needs to show more before it can be his era.

I don't think this forum means anything honestly..I don't remember that much activity here for Aamir or Salman when they were delivering Sultan and Dangal either. People here are clearly rather young and prefer to obsess over the younger "hotter" actors like Ranveer and their private life's (couldn't give less f**ks but there is more discussion about that here than movies)

This forum has always been dominated by Khan fans and Khan topics, only 2018 has that changed, conveniently that's when the Khan's all gave duds at the box office

Inspite of having solid fan following all three khans gave duds..

So from now on contant is boss n rk n rs are choosing wisely. Salman n srks next will decide if they r finished.

Khans are their own worst enemy. Due to their ego they keep interfering in the movie making process, buying directors and crazy fees.

They are losing the plot but even a moderately good movie by the khans can still break records compared to ranveer and Ranbir, the point is can they let go of the past.

I think the movie going audience is not easily fooled nowadays.. and want the best quality for their money.. especially considering how expensive a ticket is in India.. and more for certain movies.

So I see it more like audience saying: if you want us to spend the money, give us good movies.

Yes the fandoms will still sustain the Khans and they will do well even with bad movies.. but they wil;l lose cred slowly if they continue that way.

It's good thta Indian audiences demand quality.

No matter WHO is delivering.. Quality should prevail.

And of course..movies are subjective- what one likes others might dislike.. so you cannot put everyone udner the same umbrella..

But blind audience that would watch movies in droves no matter the movie, just to see some Khan? Nah , that era is (nearly) ended...

Exactly shit is expensive, things are available online and most importantly people have lost patience to watch crap movies. I still think Aamir is smart enough to pull through and even salman maybe because he has seen flop phase like no one else and come back strong. I feel srk most is still stuck in reverse.
