Agreed.

There have been shows with great concept & actors. But unfortunately they never got their due recognition. I guess international viewers like us know more about them than the native viewers. And after a certain time, even they tend to deviate from the main plot & resort to usual gimmicks - not every show but most of them.

There was a show called Krishnadasi & I loved watching it. Specially the antagonist Kumudini. I don't think I have ever seen such a brilliantly written negative character on ITV. Even when we hated her, we could still see where she was coming from. And that's the fact. No one is black or white. But even that show resorted to typical SaasBahu drama once the crux of the story got revealed & unfortunately the strong characters became typical.

Another problem I think is the unreasonable thinking that a show can go on forever. Even in American shows, a lot of shows loose their charm by the time they hit their 4th or 5th season. There is a limit to which you can stretch. But on ITV they keep on stretching like rubber & destroys the essence.

A lot of potentianlly unique shows have been ruined to fit into the same model for viewership of one particular section or because the channel thinks that only thay genre will get them. Audience. Result is that the urban audience is driven away because of these changes. The damage becomes bigger when that audience goes to other mediums and never return to TV only because they find it all the same all the time.

POW, Dehleez, Everest, Airlines, Mukti Bandhan, Gulmohar Grand, etc. were good shows but they couldn't get TRP and were nither promoted. Both were finite.

Agree with American dramas too that they lose audience after 4-5 seasons. I myself stopped watching a lot of shows after some seasons and never bothered to watch new season because the plot as well as break between 2 seasons make me Lose interest- TVD, Originals, Teen wolf, Big bang theory, etc.

Only shows that remained interesting till the end were Friends, Game Of Thrones whose hype for final season is so big.

We have good writers for sure but theTV channels don't know to value them since they think they know the story very well and show them as they want to gain TRP.

Even the mature content is so bad in her web series. Some of her shows look like c-grade po*nos.

Only some web series are nice like Bose and Test case. Rest are either typical dramas or soft po*n series.

I don't think TV will revamp anytime soon. Urban audience will move to digital platform and that's it.
