Shelve this film already because its going to flop if you take stars. Mahabharat needs unknown actors because the characters are so well known. No matter what anyone does, nobody can compare to the actors in the original BR Chopra's Mahabharat. This is exactly why all the other Mahabharats never worked on TV, either.

The key difference was that Krishna wasn't ever maliciously sly or manipulative, he did things on the sly because he was the god, he knew the ultimate truth, he knew everything thus decided to move pieces around to get the best results. There was a layer of compassion behind his slyness and manipulations, I don't think Aamir can bring all those various layers of Krishna by staying true to the original material aka the mahabharat epic itself. He would try to mold Krishna to his own liking, and wouldn't bring the proper balance between Krishna's slyness and simultaneous compassion towards the human kind. He would lean it too much toward slyness or manipulation. Tbh, I don't trust him to follow the original epic, he would tweak to his own liking. and this is NOT the type of material you should take any liberaties with. The BEST and only Krishna who played the part perfectly was in Br chopra's mahabharat.
