And they did a terrible job at that. Nandini hardly showed the struggle between loving a man she shouln't love in that way and a friend she must never betray.
They didn't show Kunal struggling between the commitment and attraction. He went ahead and cheated. Even Mauli isn't struggling between future with Ishhan. Writers don't know how to write complex and multi-dimesional characters who are always battling the reason and desire until they reach a conclusion.
