Saw this new promo on twitter and it looks interesting. I would say sonarika is quite impressive in the new promo.👏👏

I cried seeing the amount of torture ... !! Where is respect for a woman and why is she solo punished for her love? The crown prince is equally responsible.. but alas our society has its hypocritical standards .. power and money ranked supreme!

I agree that she shouldn't be the only one punished, especially how it was Salim who forced her to this relationship initially. But unfortunately at those times, class mattered more than anything else. And it was not just a matter of gender. Have we ever read a crown princess being married to a commoner in our history, not really. These princesses were not even allowed to rule by themselves without a husband. Very few women were exception to this rule and carved their own path.

A king is able to have multiple wives. If Salim had made Anar just as his mistress or his 3rd or 4th wife, no one would have questioned it. But what he is trying to do is make her the prime, the next empress after his mom. That was the unacceptable part.

Another thing is the expectations. Anar grew up in the palace. She was supposed to know what is acceptable and what is not acceptable. Salim did not really know of the palace manners as he grew up in the war field(as per this serial). So the assumption is she should have educated him of the boundaries, so to speak. She should have known her limitations and stayed there. How did she think that she could become the empress and everyone would just accept it. Also the usual idea is that it is the female who entices and traps a man with her beauty. And that is the whole idea behind holding only Anarkali as responsible.

@Shaavi.. Bang on! I used to follow your posts on Analysis threads in KRPKAB forum and have been always amazed with your in-depth attention to details and your ability to clearly write it down!!

I can't agree more with your post above!! I agree with your reasons behind holding Anar more accountable here but a wise and respected emperor like Akbar looks worse by pushing her to become a courtroom dancer (without her consent!) in his loyal court! Uff it's going to be very painful to watch...

In reality there would be much more physical torture

Do not forget that was 15th century not 21st century

Anarkali would have been killed immediately brutally

Anarkali was a maid she must have know better than dare love a crown prince - hence shes punished more brutally

Since this is serial only shes branded and made rakassa

In reality anarkali was a rakassa only not a maid

Crown prince also loved her but a Son is a son - no matter what a son does a father will never say kill him he loved against my wishes ever

Of course salim will be punished in other ways in future by akbar - like sending him to wars and away from family or not giving him powers of crown prince and giving it to daniyal etc
