I actually meant concept. It did'nt have a great concept as such. It was just like any other person's life. It was all organic n real the way the characters developed and the story progressed. Nothing contrived.

Oh, I get your point now. I think 'extravagant' is a better word. I mean, the show didn't have an extravagant concept. It had a concept which was as simple as it can get. But then, such slice-of-life stories have their own beauty 😳 Biggest plus-point obviously being the realism factor which was very high. We rarely get such stories on ITV.

P.S- Yep, I know you were lumos 😆 For that matter, I also know that you were JaprilForever as well 😉😆

Talking of execution, I think it's the direction that has been bad. Not only is the writing a let down but also the direction is a big failure

The scene where Anurag nudges her is every time made so uncomfortable. The story doesn't flow smoothly and I'm unable to describe what's amiss.
In that bedroom scene, looking at her face - I was not able to differentiate who is standing with her, Anu or Navu. And he literally realises that she's getting scared, pauses, and is back to his jaap.

More than acting, it's the direction that's falling apart. Cause I'm unable to believe that Erica can pull off a bubbly scene with ease.

Anurag was introduced as a sensible character. And all of a sudden he's shoving n pushing Prerna around and he is not even apologetic about it. He acts like a despo around her inspite of her being visibly uncomfortable. He actually doesn't have the right to manhandle Prerna or invade into her personal space like that.
They are trying to force the chemistry. Its not coming out naturally at all.
Though both Parth n Erica do have the potential to be a very successful onscreen pair. They have that spark but it's just getting ruined because of poor content and direction.

^Now when I think, I guess only the introduction came out properly due to the initial charm that every new story has. It went downhill there after, which makes me believe that the story wasn't conceptualized at all, or has somehow gotten lost in the desperation to have a great TRP, ie, by inducing unnecessary drama.

I loved KRPKAB and Naamkaran. Both had flawed leads and I loved that about them. I don't want my leads to be perfect and I don't want to try to find a justification for everything they do. I would rather just accept that they are wrong sometimes and right sometimes.

I still have hopes for Ksauti 2 because the leads are so good and are so many of the supporting cast. There is so much potential for side stories like with Nivi-Anupam etc. I just wish Ekta would take the trouble to give us a shaded hero with greys, whites and blacks and not just this dori-tying, Naveen-threatening, brilliant student, brilliant sportsman demo-God!

I do think they have chemistry. But how can you explore that chemistry is the male leads spends more time on screen with Naveen Babu than with Prerna.

First of all, Naveen shouldn't have been introduced in the second episode. They should have developed AnuPre's story a bit. Anu can't suddenly go from just talking about the weather to Prerna for the past two three years to shoving her against the wall. Scenes like the library scene(a genuinely endearing one) were needed more. Their friendship didnt even get a chance to blossom. Love lectures from Prerna were the only thing Anu n Prerna bonded over. Had Naveen's drama started after say, 10 episodes, this desperation of Anu's to 'save' prerna would have made sense.
But all this is of no use. Ekta's shows always give more importance to villains. I can only imagine what will happen when Komo comes. They messed up thinking this Naveen track would bring trps. Heck even Kdb initially had a nice story devoid of unnecessary villains. I wonder why Ekta did this to her most important project. Its like khud ke pair pe kulhaadi maarna. Both Parth n my Eri deserved better than this illogical crap.
