If he really felt like a father towards Mishti.. he would have not been so calm when she got a shock.. and tried to calm mauli as if it's not a big deal.. i was disappointed in his reactions..
He should have shown more concern if that word popsy meant something to him as well.. one cannot be happy go lucky all the time.. compare this to how kunal reacted when they took pari without permission..
That's the difference between actual dad and naam ke vaasthe dad..

Maybe they should have showed more of a reaction from him, but I don't really think the writer's intention of making his reaction this way was to show he cares less about mishti in a fatherly way than kunal does in contrast, but rather was just to display his calming/ comforting and supportive behaviour towards mauli who was very emotional at that time. The writer's could have gone two ways about his reaction to mishti's incident. Either show him being just as frantic as mauli, or show him being optimistic and calm to comfort and support mauli, and the writer's chose the latter for whatever reason they best felt at the time.

Ishaan's reaction was just like my dad when I had anaphylaxia and my mum was really worried and annoyed as the nurses kept me waiting too long whilst I was swelling up in the waiting room, and my dad was the calm one who comforted her. My dad was still concerned about me, but my mum was really tensed because of the delay and my dad being the calm parent in that situation who could console my mother to be patient, although my mum was right to be upset given anaphylaxia is no joke for nurses to keep a patient waiting, but there's almost always that one parent who in a tense situation keeps a cool-mind rather than getting stressed. Extreme reactions from one and all isn't always needed.

Agreed. In most of the cases mothers become panicked & fathers maintain their calm to handle the situation. A couple of times when I got really sick, in fact, I had to laugh to calm my mother down when she got much frightened seeing my state. So, I guess they tried to show his maturity in such situations where he has to handle Mauli.

In every family ,one parent get worried more and the other parent face the situation in a calm way. If both the parents gets worried, then it will be really difficult to overcome the situation.

There is nothing which was confusing about Ishaan . He is Father of Mishti from long 3 yrs . He is Calm & Composed . Mauli was already in panic ,,,So he as a Calm and matured Parent just handled the situation . And he did that Quite Amazingly . Like here everyone said , During these type of situations , One parent is worried and another one is calm & tries to handle the situation . Ishaan did the same .

And Plzzz there is no doubtful question one can ask abt Ishaan . It's not a joke to accept one divorcee's daughter and treat him like ur own daughter that too from 3 yrs that too selflessly . Ishaan is a Gem .
