DEM 6^th Weekly Review

Cons

1) Serial is going very fast in one week anarkali accepted Salims love and her marriage was fixed. In next week Salims crowning and attack on arakali takes place. Somehow viewer still feels Salim anarkali love has not started because its going too fast.

2) Second issue of this serial is like typical saas bahu show always anarkali saves Salim. That was 15^th century and Salim was a prince did he mot have body gaurds to protect him. Or whats Akbars ministers doing in palace. Its thir duty to save Salim. And salim himself is a good warrior. Yet from childhood anytime Salim is in adnger only anarkali saves him. Some how it looks very clichd. Why should girl friend or wife always save hero? Somehow this love looks more gratitude from Salims side for anarkali for saving his life.

Pros

Three important events mark the 6^th week

Salims crowing as next emperor: Salim is surrounded by enemies at his home. Usually home is place you feel most protected and can stay carefree without fear. But in Salims case hes more safe outside of his home as agra fort is filled with people who want him dead. Right from Ruqaiah his step mother to his step brothers Murad and Daniyal who are baying for his blood from childhood to his dadijaan and Abul Fazl who want him separated from anarkali almost everyone there is after his life and love. In future Akbar too will join them once he knows that Salim loves anarakali hopefully that will be after few more weeks. Anyways Khanam the maid to Ruqaiah has placed scorpion in Salims crown so it stings his head and he dies. But when Akbar lifts crown will it not sting Akbar fist like it did anarakali when she touched crown? Luckily anarkali saves Salim yet again although he misunderstands her for coming to court.

Salim is a very impulsive person. He reacts for everything emotionally unlike an Akbar or Ruqaiah and Hamida whose practical. Hes mamas boy after all, Jodha too reacts emotionally always remember standing in front of tiger or refusing to eat anything till Salim comes. So mamas boy has gone on mother only. Without listening Salim gets angry on anar for coming to cowning ceremony and shouts at her. But best part about Salim compared to other of his family members is he can let go off his ego and say sorry to anyone. He said sorry to Akbar for raising hands on him than to Jodha for setting tent on fire and now he asks sorry to anarkali for shouting at her. Only when you love someone very much you let go off ego and say sorry for small mistakes, so anarkali is lucky that Salim loves her very much to let go his ego.

Anarkali marriage: Hamida and Abul fazal are playing games with Salim. Fixing anarkali marriage was more of mind game played on Salim than anarkali or jillan. And Salim falls in trap so easily. Jillan is a maid in mughal fort the way she spoke to Salim when he said anarkali marriage cannot take place was a way too rude. Salim is crown prince apart from his parents and grandparents i do not think anyone can speak so rudely to him or buzz him off. Jillan was like do not interfere in anarkali marriage i am her mother etc. I doubt in 15^th century even royals would speak so with Salim. Thanks to Hamida anarkali marriage is cancelled.

Scene of week: The scene of week arrives as anarakali goes to meet Salim in his room. Salim cannot believe that anarkali agreed to marry someone else apart from him. He asks anar whether she knows how to use knife when she says no he gives knife to her and tells her to plunge it into his heart. Salim love for anarkali has exceeded the love stage long back now its obsession. Its like if anarkali is with him he breathes and his heart beats else he goes lifeless. He cannot believe that to save her khallas life she forgot him. He says if your khalla can die to get you married, your marriage will kill not only my heart but soul. Khalla may require a poison pill to die but Salim will die even without eating any pill or knife when anarkali seperates from him. Salim is emotionally very attached to anarkali and when she will go away from him he will have a tough time to get back to normal.

Diwali celebs: dadijaan calls anarkali to make perfume for Diwali and also get Salims crown from the jeweller. Thats just a plan to get anarkali killed by dadijaan.

Salim anarkali secret meets: salim cannot live a day without meeting anarakali. First he goes to the laundry place than to her room as she makes perfume and finally to the place shes making rangoli. One of these days he will be caught for sure. Why cannot these two meet outside agra fort? Because its quiet a risk with family, gaurds, maids all roaming all over agra fort. Best place to meet would be Bhul Bhulaiya with snakes and scorpions acting as gaurd and none daring to spy on them!!! Salim is playing with fire everytime hes going to meet her in agra fort. He thinks love is equal to worship and no need to hide from anyone. But society and his parents and family do not believe so. They think maids are very low to them and if Salim is in love with maid all hell will break loose. Like Jillan says Salim may get away with light punishment for daring to go against society norms as hes prince but anarkali will lose her life. Salim is too inexperienced and immature to know this at young age hence hes risking going to meet anarkali so often. This will backfire on him and anrakli shortly. Then he will regret his immaturity of thinking that in Hindustan love is equal to worship etc. Thats all only in poetry and tales not in real ife. But it will be too late for Salim to correct his errors. If Salim was a mature man he would just wait for himself to become emperor and than declare his love for anarkali openly and marry her rather than go into rebellion which will be futile as it cannot save anarkali.
