Hi everyone.
I'm a bengali who enjoys watching Pakistani dramas. The most intriguing female lead heroines for me are the ones that are innocent but very pious; like Sadia Khan's character in Khuda aur mohabbat, Sanam Choudhury's character in Khatputli and/or Maya Ali's character in Shanakth.

I've also enjoyed watching Mein Abdul Kadir hoon, Sher e Zaat and Aik Pal - those dramas include characters discovering their iman.

Would you guys be able to recommend me anymore pakistani dramas that has an innocent but pious female heroine?

Thanks.😊

Saya e Dewar Bhi Nahi also revolved around religious believes. But in this case the lead character after adverse circumstances marries a Christian and then repents. I am not sure if that fits well with your description.

I will think about more 😊

I remember Rabab Hashmi played a very strong religious character in some drama(not able to recollect the name at this point)...The character started off as a very strong, confident but yet polite and likable person which later transformed into this adamant, preachy type who would put off anybody and everybody in the drama...

I think for a writer its very challenging to come up with a strong religious character without making them preachy, but if there is nothing like it if one is able to achieve it!

EDIT: Got the drama name...Its 'Amanat'!

Thanks for the recommendation. I've read about the drama, but was kind of turned off by the fact it has Noor starring in it - I personally don't think he's a good actor. I can never take that guy seriously.

More recommendations are welcome from you, even if the drama is considered old.

Yeah it's super hard finding good pakistani dramas with humble religious characters. Most dramas today are about love triangles, evil mother in laws, rich loving the poor, and rape victims/survivors and village feudalism😔.

Oh my I just remembered the best of the best 'Meri zaat zarrae benishan' ...When the female lead gets hit by the biggest calamity of her life, she turns towards God and becomes ultra spiritual...The only word of caution is please be prepared to cry your eyes out! No it isn't a tragedy or anything, but her journey from the world towards the God is so beautiful that it will make you cry with joy and happiness!

Yup I watched MZZB, and I agree it's a tragic and a very sad serial; still very excellent. It is rightfuly an iconic serial of its time.

Daastan is also one of my favourite shows only for Sanam Baloch's performance. Again the reason I loved her character so much was her devotion to her faith even after losing her family and being displaced into India's Punjab; forcibly living with a Sikh family.

***SPOILER*** My favorite scene was seeing her quietly performing namaz in the upper floor of a Sikh temple while everyone else was doing their own sikh rituals downstairs.***END SPOILER***

I became a fan of Pak dramas after watching Khuda Aur Mohabbat . I am a muslim woman from Arab country, but sadly we don't have religious leads. In Pak dramas we watch leads go to masjid, perform namaz, it is very pleasing.
There are many lead females with high princibles, it is not just about religion, but also about respecting family and society's norms. for this I recommend Dil Teri Naam . try this one.
