Story not going anywhere!!!

Neither its going like Mughal e azam the movie that everyone has watched and liked in India(and much of asia) and expected the serial to be like

Neither its going like a15th century story of a crown prince falling for kaneez. Neither Salim acting like crown prince nor anarkali like a kaneez neither jodha like queen

Salim is too negative to his family especially father. If Salim was not hero of story its ok to be negative. But this is a Indian show, audience will not accept negative shade hero till some grave crime or injustice not happened with him (like in bazigaar movie, SRK family killed by kajol father so it was ok if SRK killed Shilpa shetty). Especially serial is for TV audience so family audience do not accept negative or grey shade hero.

Secondly emotional bonding between characters not established before the love story began. So Salim hardly spent few minutes with his father training or his mother hardly shown taking care of him. Relation between brothers also hazy and very negative and with step moms never established at all. Why Ruqaiah and Salima hate Salim from childhood? They do not have own child no? That how Ruqaiah acn become Malika e Hindustan, only next emperors mother will become Malika e a Hindustan no thats Jodha already. We can understand if Ruqaiah/Salima hate Jodha so want to kill Salim and give her pain, but they cannot become Malika e Hindustan without being Akbars sons mothers is it not? So better villans were needed for Salim may be a Sharifuddin who wants to be emperor or Abul Fazl who wants Daniyal not Salim to be emperor etc right from childhood

Daniyal and Murad are too negative and try to kill Salim repeatedly at Ruqaiah's instructions. They were small kids, their innocence should have been left intact. They should have been nice to Salim in childhood become negative as adults slowly out of desire for throne. Where are Daniyal and Murads moms? why they listen to Ruqaiah only? Thats not established. Previous day Salim drowned in Yamuna almost next day for drinking wine in court Akbar banishes him to war field. Is that possible as a mature father an emperor? Is he not bothered who gave salim wine?

Jodha and Akbar are never having much bond with Salim. Hes repeatedly in death situation like in Bhul Bhulaiya and atatcked in garden and in river but mother and father are not bothered to check how he went into Bhul bhulaiya or fell in river or drank wine etc. Its as if Jodha-Akbar assumed that Salim will be risking life every few days do not bother to ask why? how? Hes a small kid, actually parents must be more bothered at that age of child is repeatedly in trouble or attacked. Here i would like to say Salim had many pet lion/tiger/cheetah etc from childhood and one reason for such pets was his life was in danger and gaurds cannot always be trusted neither family/relatives. His pets even loitered in Salim palace/bedroom as confirmed by British ambassdor. Why? One reason he loved his pets but another reason is for safety. Who dare attack you when you have a pet lion/cheetah/tiger loitering near you? His pets also accompained him to his parties like for nauroz, christmas parties etc(pictures are available in mughal paintings) and walk in gardens and meetings with persian ambassdor etc Some lions/cheetah/deer pets even travelled with him on empire tours/wars etc. So even if gaurds are missing or betray you, your pets would ensure no one dares attack you in their presence. Salim had so many pet lions that even aurangzeb and shah jahan mention them in their autobiograhy. So anarkali need not save him always, he had lots of back up protections.

Third issue of show childhood of Salim also only anarkali dominated. She was going around saving him in every other scene. Todays audience cannot suspend belief especially in historicals where everyone knows Akbar and Salim were warriors and had many body gaurds. In that situation why 5 year old kid anarkali saving 8-10 year old Salim? Salim save anarkali its ok because he was a warrior but anarkali saving Salim is gross.

Fourth issue whys Salim so negative with family after return? Only fights and misbehaviours. 15th century prince must be having lots of protocols and ways to behave decently taught to them. Salim is acting like a 21st century street vagabond or teenage college going rebel than 15th century crown prince. Audience cannot understand logic of his negativity and aloofness from family etc. Whys he pouring water over murad for asking kaneez anarkali for water again? OK murad was a bit rude but he is prince and anarkali a maid, and hes drunk so not in senses too? Salim can call anarkali to hamam and humilate or make her stand in yamuna and humiliate or slap a maid anarkali but Murad and daniyal should not? Whats sort of double rules are these?

Fifth Jodha and hamida always giving lectures to Akbar on how he should behave with Salim? What about giving few lessons to salim too. When Salim poured water on Murad and raised hands on Akbar, Jodha and hamida should be lecturing Salim not Akbar on how to behave. Salim never asked sorry to Akbar even once till now. I mean as a kid you misbehave with parents and elders family will think fine hes a small kid and forgive, but as adult you cannot cross limits with parents even in 21st century. That was 15th century by now Salim should be asking sorry to Akbar once atleast.

Sixth is love story. Why Salim loves anrakali from childhood? Whats resaon because she saved his life or shes good mannered or what? Why a crown prince who has so many choices of very beautiful and nobel princess(or cocubbines) will fall for anarkali who has no such special quality neither so stunning that a crown prince will forgo his crown for her. Even in 21st century no prince will forgo crown for some maid than 15th century a prince should be crazy in love to do that. Anarkali has no such quality that crown prince will abondon his emperor position and go against father. Or is anarkali just a reason to remove his anger/angst against father that he has from childhood?

Mahabhat was commander in chief of mughal army in Salims reign. Whys he acting like a servant/attendant of Salim. He was Salims best friend and should be acting similar to a prince/nobel not like a attendant. Otherwise how he will command such huge mughal army and so many commanders. By now already he must have some capability to be made commander in chief by Salim. When Salim rebelled against Akbar, Akbar put many of Salims commanders to death. But he also did not kill Mahabhat, Qutubbudin Koka, Durjan Singh etc Salims best friends and commanders in rebellion. Why? Because they are Salims best friends and close to him(and to mughal family too). So you can understand how powerful Mahabhat Khans position was because he was Salims close friend. Even great Nur Jahan was scared of Mahabhat as Salim listened to him always(over his kids and wifes) and hence created rift between Mahabhat and salim by killing his son in law as she felt hes danger to her and her family position in mughal court till hes close to Salim. Mahabhat was no small push over, the entire mughal army was under his command for decades. Salim had four best friends and Mahabhat was one of them. He was not a minister/nobel son but because he was Salims friend rose to great heights. Salim never did anything without consulting his best friends especially Mahabhat whether rebellion or otherwise. Thats how powerful and close Mahabhat was to Salim.

Salim will never dare behave way hes behaving with his father and brothers till now or even Murad and daniyal should maintain protocol with salim etc
