Stronger lines for Jennifer?

I don't know about anyone else, but I am majorly disappointed with the writing that is being done for Zoya, Jennifer Winget is capable of so much more and deserves much better.

Yes Zoya has always been the quiet one, but I swear after the leap she became the chatty and strong one? So how comes she's now become the quiet one again?

It is like Aditya is always leading in this relationship and Zoya is just following. Even when her marriage broke to Arshad, the writers gave the centre stage first to Arshad, then to Adi, then to Waseem. I didn't expect Zoya to say much or do much, but I did expect us to get a better confession of her love for Adi. We've seen that Zoya is strong enough to stand for what is right, so why would she hide away from expressing her love and stopping a marriage she didn't want? Do the writers not care about their female lead?

As for Aditya, I'm loving the lines and the characterisation so far. Aditya is a strong character, I just wish the writers gave the same focus to Zoya.

I have to say the acting is awesome by both Jennifer and Harshad. Yes I might not like the writing, but Jennifer is doing a great job with whatever she is given, I can only imagine how amazing it would be with better writing.

I started watching this show because of Harshad and Jennifer, I've watched previous shows of both, and knew they'd be amazing together, but the writers really need to do more. You can't make a show great with just the male being amazing, you need the female to be strong too.

Do you expect Zoya to throw herself at Aditya after bearing insults, getting disowned by her dad and Anjana taunting her all in one day. She has just realised her feelings give her time after marriage she will slowly start opening up more. Her character is written like this, she is less vocal but her expressions and actions speak for her.

Again I repeat zoya is a highly misunderstood character...post leap whenever she has faced tough situations like kukku aunty taunts, anjana taunts, riots and even with waseem zoya has been vocal with strong dialogues...but when it comes to expressing love and emotions she is a person of action rather than words...the way she kissed adi's ring and kept carcassing it with her hands speaks volumes about her happiness...that is how zoya is...and she had the guts to admit her love in front of family and relatives with few words but with great impact...Adi is a man of words and zoya compliments him with her actions...that is their bond...

^ Agree with the above person.
Zoya blends acc to d situation, in front of her father she cudn't open her mouth, but again i wud also like the makers to make those two lines which they give Zoya to be good. When Adi can get gud dialogues, why can't Zoya?

Totally totally agree girl.. She need not be as vocal as Aditya. But seriously give the girl some appropriate dialogues atleast..let Aditya speak a thousand words and Zoya just a few ,but please make those words count. I loved her dialogues during the jungle track ,they were short n sweet. I really like it when she emotes through her eyes and shows her caring nature through her actions (e.g the lake scene during junglr track ) but at times you do need to make the girl talk esp when it comes to justifying her actions . like they should have made her speak up instead of giving Arshad those dialogues.. Trust me even with bare minimum, Jenny is so so good as Zoya, she definitely deserves better! !

Erm I didn't say that, and where have I even mentioned the current track, and that I want Zoya to throw herself Aditya? I just don't want it to seem like Aditya is the only one in this relationship and that he's in charge or something. At the moment it's like she's just following him around.

My complaint was just that the writers undervalue Jennifer's acting capabilities, and haven't given her the spotlight as much as they have others.

I even said I didn't expect Zoya to say much when her wedding was called off, but I do expect better writing for her. Zoya was very righteous, so yes I didn't expect to see Zoya actually even go down and sit for her nikah, the Zoya of old would have thought twice about the consequences of her actions and how she might hurt others. But this time Zoya didn't even consider Arshad's feelings.

I'm sorry, but your response doesn't really seem to be in reply to anything I said.

This is the thing, everyone seems to think I'm attacking the character of Zoya, I'm not. I know Zoya talks less and her actions show her feelings more. My point was merely that the writing for her hasn't been great.

Like when Adi confessed his love, it was all about Adi and what he felt.

Zoya didn't even get that, they actually made her sit for a nikah that she didn't want, and in the end it was the men that talked up for her or against her. Why couldn't they even give Zoya a sentence to say she can't go through with the nikah?

Maybe I'm a little biased because I have watched Jennifer in previous shows, and I've seen her do more. And even in previous roles, when she wasn't talking a lot or whatever, her character was stronger.

A woman can be both quiet and strong. A character can have personality and depth without talking. But here the writing for me is lacking. Even the Zoya of old used to say very little, but her actions were decisive.

@Khushi ...I quite agree with you in your observations and suggestions.Recently it has looked a Aditya loaded show with his character getting most of the limelight and dialogues of impact. This has been going on since Aditya's realisation moment. He has been in the forefront with most of the strong dialogues. Zoya receded into an introspective troubled phase where she was playing a confused role pretending to be in sync with her Abbu's choice of a groom for her, trying to make amends for defying him earlier to only land up betrayed. She is both scared to fall in love again as well as go against her father. On the other hand she has Aditya trailing her to enforce a realisation from her that she is actually in love with him as much as he is with her. She is scared to face this truth till the last moment ...actually prompted by Aditya himself receding. So many conflicting emotions to portray must have difficult for Jenny .There was no scope for much dialogue specially as there was no one she could talk to or confide in ..her best friend was one of the prime characters of her confused state of mind. Zoya slid into quietude struggling to fight her feelings by herself. Jenny I feel played her role to aplomb. The CVs too had no scope to provide her emphatic dialogues so one can't blame them actually unless the entire realisation track had been written differently ...without the Arshad imbroglio where she did not need to marry anyone else and suffer in silence. ITV however loves the suffering FL so that was that.

With that track finally ended we do hope Zoya will get back to her feisty self post leap and both the leads will have dialogues of equal weightage.
