Chapter 1
Famous Delhi based crown prosecutor,Honorable Vijay sharma stepped out of the court house after sentencing a criminal. He was famous in the criminal world. Unfortunately Mr sharma was the corrupt law of Delhi. Police department was in his hand. He was a bad personality and public hated him. His second income was from bribery and Underworld to let go criminals from prosecution or trial. All the rich people,and the big businesses paid him to save their ass. Him and his family which consists of his wife Mrs shobha sharma,son Abhay sharma who was a police officer and only daughter,18 year old Mahek sharma who was still studying in nursing school. Mr sharma was escorted to a bullet proof car by security guards. The doors locked once he was inside. The driver moved the car and headed in the direction of the sharma house. Someone was watching him with blood shot eyes. His palm balled into two hard fists as Vijay sharma's car went by him.
Shaurya Khanna,a 25 year old,once a high class now belonged to a middle class family and lived in Delhi with his parents Harish and Karuna khanna. Once upon a time the khanna's were rich,owned several businesses and lived in high society. One man took it all from them! And that man was none other then Vijay sharma! Their lives were ruined by this cunning man. Shaurya operated a gang called black panthers. Their mission was to loot/seize money and valuables from the rich people like Vijay sharma who earns money by fraud/bribe or by misleading the public or even by robbery. After each mission,Shaurya donates the seized money to the poor and needy or to the charities. Police were looking for Shaurya and his team but couldn't get hold of any of them as most of them lived in caves or deep in the jungle including Shaurya who had a log cabin in the heart of the jungle and getting to him was just impossible as he was guarded by his trained dogs and his gang called Black Panthers. Another interesting thing was nobody in the police department knew who Shaurya was,neither have they seen his face.
One day at dinner table Karuna questioned Shaurya who was home after a week. "How long will this continue shaurya? You hardly ever come home..police are looking for you..what will happen if you are caught? Who will look after us then? How will we survive without you Beta?'' "This will continue until I ruin all the big shots who are making money the wrong way. I will finish the drug dealers and the criminals from this city ma! And next on my list is Vijay sharma and his family! I will ruin him ma! I'll bring him and his entire family on the street! I will make him pay for what he did to us,to our business and to our house! I will not Rest In Peace until I snatch everything that he loves! I will bring him down on his knees and make him beg''. His voice was harsh and eyes burned with anger. "Beta,this is too risky..and he's a cunning man ..you can lose your life..just let go Shaurya...'' said Harish. "No papa! I will not let him go this easily! If I lose my life in this fight for justice,there are 20 more Shaurya's who will go after him till he's a dead man!'' Taking their blessing and giving some money to his mom,he left to meet his friends who were waiting for the next mission. "Alright team! Get ready to break some bones! Grab your gears and we'll be on our way!'' He told his friends as he equipped himself. Hopping up on their bikes,some got in the Jeep and off they went.
That same night,Mahek's friend and colleague Sonal had thrown a party for her colleagues at her place. Her father also was a big fraudulent who made money by other means such as exporting drugs. Shaurya had eyed him for a very long time. "One day your dad and my dad will get us into trouble.'' Mahek told Sonal while dancing on the floor. "I know..they are bad guys Mahek and because of them we will suffer.'' Answered Sonal. "As soon as I finish my nursing course I'm out of sharma house forever!'' Said Mahek. "Me too yaar,I don't wanna stay here..disgusting people come and go out of the house anytime they please.'' Added Sonal. That night Shaurya was going to ramphage kk's house. Kk was Sonal's dad. "Remember! We are not here to kill! We are here to seize his money and valuables! If we find any drugs we'll dump it in the river after. Is that clear?'' Shaurya's voice echoed in the dark night. "What if he comes in the way?'' Someone Asked from the team. "Shoot him in the legs!'' The team nodded and headed to the house. The gang stampeded into the building wearing dark clothes and masks. People present there screamed in fear,black panthers loved to see the fear in their victims' eyes. One fired their gun and all the guests fell to the floor: paralysed with fear. Shaurya noticed several women shaking. Kk came into sight. Shaurya fired low and just ahead of him, and had the satisfaction to see him drop like a deer,shot in the leg. "Come with me!'' Terrified,Sonal grabbed Mahek's hand and scaled the scene. Mahek watched a figure of a man following behind them. "Gosh! He's behind us Sonal!'' Mahek caught her breath. She had never once seen his face, but she knew beyond certainty who he was. "He's the boss of the black panthers.'' She whispered to Sonal as they entered kk's room. Before Sonal could close the door,Shaurya pushed the door open and pointed a gun at them. "Hands up both of you and move to the wall!'' Ordered Shaurya. Mahek uttered a soft choked cry when he pushed them to the wall. Both girls started screaming for help. In one large hand, he held up a pistol and pointed at both of them. "Both of you keep quiet now! Not a word, you hear!?! I've never killed a woman before, but there's a first time for everything, isn't there? Now, stand up! Hands on your head!'' He commanded. Every muscle in Mahek's body froze and she could barely take in a breath.Fear enveloped every nerve ending in her body as she held onto the wall for dear life. "Who are you?'' Shaurya Asked Sonal. "I'm..Sonal..kk's daughter and she's my friend Mahek.'' Sonal's voice sounded like a whimper. "Find me the keys for the locker or I'll shoot it and break it myself!'' His voice was threatening. Sonal found the keys and opened her dads locker. Shaurya tossed a bag at her. "Fill it up! Not a penny should be left out!'' Shaking badly Sonal packed his bag with the cash and jewelries. Standing there leaning on the wall,Mahek thought his voice was amazing. Unfortunately Shaurya's face was covered,all she could see was his gorgeous eyes and his hairs. From the moment this handsome stranger had walked through the door, her heartrate had spiked. Not because of the way his dark hair fell in a soft wave around a part above his left eyebrow. Her heart was thundering because of the air. He charged the atmosphere with his confident stride. His deep-brown eyes had taken her in with no more than a blink. He exuded class and power and heat. "Get everything out and put all of it in that bag. Hurry before your friend here passes out! She's shaking like a chicken,a dead one. Move your hands faster! I'm not leaving you two until I get what I came here for." His voice was harsh but Mahek heard a slight undertone of guilt and remorse. "And you chicken! Gather all the valuables from the room! Move!'' Shaurya roared at Mahek. She quickly ran around the room and got what he wanted. She gathered it into a bag and held it out, breathing hard. "Put it on the ground in front of me." There was warning in his voice and she did as she was told. Mahek was so close to him. Her gaze fell on his neck. He was wearing a chain and a locket which had Karuna written on it. Sonal too brought the bag and laid it on his feet. "Now Don't move...If any of you move, one will die right now!'' Both friends stood there lifting their hands up as Shaurya grabbed the bag and fled from there. Both sighed when he was gone. "I wish I could have seen his face.'' Said Mahek. "Kiyu? Uski muh dikhayee thi kya aaj? Yah phir tumey uski photo khichni thi?'' Sonal scoffed. "Nahi yaar..I just wanted to see his face and I don't know why.'' Mahek walked to the window and saw him getting in his Jeep. "He's the first man who rose my heart beat.'' Sonal shook her head unbelievably. "Janeman,your heartbeat rose because you were terrified like a chicken! Stupid girl!'' Mahek still looked at his Jeep as other team members hopped in. "I was scared but not that much..my heartbeat rose when I saw his eyes..it was breathtakingly beautiful! Gorgeous dark brown like the colour of a hazelnut.'' She said with a smile and turned to Sonal. "I heard after each loot he takes it to charities,let's follow him Sonal I just want to see his face! Please?.'' Mahek grabbed Sonal's hand to go when the police stepped in the room. And the police happened to be Mahek's brother Abhay. "Have you seen his face?'' He asked the girls. The girls nodded in no. "Anything he was wearing that would help us identify him like chain,watch etc etc.'' Mahek has seen the chain on his neck but she kept it secret. "No bhai we haven't seen any such thing on him..I mean his face was covered na so how could we see?'' Said Mahek. "Theek hai..it's very late you go home.'' Said Abhay who was just gawking at Sonal every now and then. Nodding her head,Mahek exited the house with Sonal. "Chal mere saath,we will follow them tonight until I see his face.'' Said Mahek. "Mahek you are gone mad! They are dangerous yaar! What if we get busted? We'll be shot dead!'' Warned Sonal. "If you are my true friend then you'll come with me.'' Mahek opened the passenger side door for her. Shaking her head unbelievably,Sonal sat inside. Mahek giggled and got behind the steering wheel.
With black panthers on her mind and a deep uneasiness in her heart, Mahek drove through the glistening night, searching for the black Jeep. Rain ticked on the roof of the car. Without thunder or lightning, without wind, the storm had come in from the far south at the end of a somber February twilight. More than a drizzle but less than a downpour, it sluiced all the energy out of the city. Delhi and environs became a metropolis without sharp edges, urgency, or spirit. Buildings blurred into one another, traffic flowed sluggishly, and streets deliquesced into gray mists. "This is not a good idea Mahek! Khud toh dubogi mujhey bhi saath lekar dubogi.'' Said Sonal. Mahek's mouth was dry, but the palms of her hands were damp. The tightness in her chest arose as much from anxiety as from the pleasant anticipation of seeing Him again. "I just want to see his face Sonal,and that's it.'' Mahek told her friend. "Why just his face? Tumey kya usse shaadi karni hai? Stupid girl!'' Asked Sonal. Mahek chuckled but didn't answer. Rain drizzled off the awning, gurgled in gutters, and splashed beneath the tires of passing cars. Then she saw them! Black panthers were ripping through the rain. "I can see them!'' Mahek sighed in relief. After driving for a while Their Jeep stopped at a orphanage. Shaurya stepped out with the bag of cash followed by his team members. Mahek parked her car some feet away from them. "I'll stay here,you go inside.'' Sonal told her with a shiver as the cold was getting to her bones. "Okay fine! I'll just take a peek at his face and come.'' Drenching in the rain,Mahek tiptoed to orphanage and hid outside by the window. She slowly cast a brief look through the window. Shaurya was standing with his back on her and talking to the caretaker of the orphanage. He then removed his mask and handed the cash to the caretaker who took the bag inside. "Please turn..'' Mahek prayed in her heart. "Okay team! We meet in few days for another mission. That mission is the most awaited one.'' Shaurya told his team. "Vijay sharma we will be coming for you!'' Someone Said from the team. Mahek's eyes widened in shock. "They are coming for dad?'' She murmured. Shaurya saw a figure standing by the window from the wall mirror. "We have company guys!'' Everyone turned swiftly towards the window and saw a girl standing there with big brown eyes. "Oh no! They saw me!'' Meanwhile Shaurya wore his mask and ordered the team to stay inside,he will handle this. Mahek sprint from there for her dear life! Rain was pouring hard and it hurt her skin. "Freeze!'' Mahek heard his voice like a thunder and a gun being loaded behind her. "You are so dead Mahek! Say a silent prayer and get ready to die.'' She said in her heart. "Lift your hands up and turn.'' Ordered Shaurya. Trembling from head to toe,she turned with her lifted hands. She looked at him with terrified eyes.He studied her for a moment; the silence seemed to swell and billow around them.Something flickered across his stark features. Tucking his gun away He took a step toward her, his eyes narrowing dangerously. Mahek held her ground, but it took an effort. "Aren't you the girl from kk's house?'' he asked. Swallowing back an enormous lump in her throat,she spoke. "Yes..I'm his daughters friend.'' With beady eyes, he studied her slowly from head to toe, then back up again. She was young and slender with long limbs and a pale complexion. Her white dress and boots marked her as a member of the high class. The drenched bodice of that dress pulled tight across an ample bosoma sight mere inches from his eyes, and from which he had difficulty averting his gaze.She looked to be in her early twenties, a few years younger than himself. She was pretty, her oval face and delicate features reminded him of Snow White and her fairytale. Her hair, too wet to determine its true shade, had come loose and hung in waves to her waist. He couldn't take his eyes off of her,and when he saw her upper bodice very closely,her black bra and her black panties showed wonderfully through her white soaked dress. Her wet dress was plastered to her milky flesh,revealing her curves. "Yeh ladki hai yah phir musibat!'' Saying in his heart Shaurya swallowed. She was sure to catch a cold in that flimsy evening dress. Besides, it was turning transparent. Mahek's boots squelched in the rain. She wrinkled her nose. The shoes had been expensive perfectly matched to the dress. Shouldn't she have been upset? She wasn't. It felt nice, standing in front of him in the rain. Lightning illuminated the sky, followed closely by a loud boom of thunder. Mahek jumped slightly. Shaurya's trance broke and he grabbed her arm. "What the hell are you doing here?'' Mahek swallowed. "I..I ..wanted to see your face that's why I followed you..'' she told him the truth. "And why the hell you wanna see my face for?'' He questioned. "I don't know..I just ..'' he cut her off and pushed her on his Jeep and caged her between his arms. "Who are you? Tell me your full name!'' His voice was threatening. "I'm Mahek..Mahek sharma..'' Shaurya's temperature rose,he Pierced her with his blood shot eyes which had suddenly changed at her last name. "You are the rich brat of Vijay sharma aren't you?'' Mahek trembled as his voice was deep dark and sounded dangerous. "He's my father..'' she managed to utter. He didn't wanted to hear that! He never wanted this beautiful girl to be that monster's daughter. He had started to like her but now at the mention of her fathers name..he grabbed her neck and increased the pressure,strangling her. Mahek kicked him in his groin. Pain shot through him and he released her. She turned to run when again he grabbed her hand. Mahek bit his wrist hard and fled from the there. "Sorry I didn't mean to bite you but I had no choice! you would have strangled me!'' Yelling,she got in her car. Sonal who was on the driver seat now pressed the gas pedal and sped from there. "Bloody hell! We will meet again soon miss sharma!'' Shaurya shouted and winced in pain,his team joined him and all left.
For next few days,Mahek was down with cold and fever,Shaurya was also in bed with a temperature. "Aur bheego baarish mein! Now you'll be missing your exams.'' Complained Sonal who paid her a visit after school. "He must be sick too..'' Mahek blabbered to herself. "Who?'' Asked Sonal. "My phantom!'' Replied Mahek with a naughty smile. "Don't forget he's coming after your dad this time.'' Warned sonal. "If he comes I'll trap him somehow and see his face or I'll find out his name.'' Mahek told her confidently. "Well,all the best my friend!'' Scoffed sonal. A night later,Shaurya and his team entered sharma house. Vijay sharma was fast asleep hugging his wife due to the chloroform they used on them. Abhay had also retired for the night. Mahek had just closed her eyes after tossing and turning when a huge hand covered her mouth. She shot her eyes open to find her phantom hovering over her. She struggled to speak but he had her mouth covered. "Was he going to kidnap her?Would he rape her? Murder her? She shivered in fright with every thought, each more terrifying then the last."Listen carefully,when I release your mouth I don't want you to make any sound,just get up and take me to your monster dad's locker. Mahek's eyes watered and she nodded her head. Shaurya released her,without a sound Mahek got up and stepped out of her room followed by Shaurya who kept her walking at gunpoint. Mahek found the keys and unlocked the locker. Shaurya's man packed the cash,valuables and some illegal substances in a bag. When the locker was empty,Shaurya gestured them to leave. The black panthers left. "Walk back to your room.'' He ordered Mahek. Poor soul walked back to her room followed by Shaurya. Just then Abhay came out of his room with a gun. He assumed something was not right,he walked towards Mahek's room to check if his sister was okay. Inside the room,Shaurya had no way to escape. "You have to hide me!'' He told her. "Abh ayaa unth pahad ke nichey!' She said in her heart. "Did you say something?'' He asked. With a smile she folded her arms. "I can hide you but you have to show me your face and tell me your name.'' She laid her condition. "What the hell?'' He ruffled his hair in frustration. But did he have a choice? "Ok fine I will! just hide me for now.. and don't try to act smart alright?'' Mahek felt like she won a lottery. She hid him in her closet and dumped a whole lot of clothes on him. "Stay here! I'll send my brother away and come.'' Abhay tapped on her door. "Mahek open up!'' Mahek composed herself and opened the door. "Bhai? Is everything ok?'' She asked. "I heard commotion in the house,so was just checking on you.'' He said. "Oh I see..I'm fine bhai..go back to bed I'm gonna sleep as well.'' Abhay caressed her head and left. Mahek sighed in relief and went inside the room. Locking the door from inside she went back to the closet. "He's gone you can come out.'' She told him. But he never came out. "Phantom,the coast is clear please come out.'' She repeated again. When nothing moved,Mahek moved the clothes away to find the closet empty! She grimaced. "Saala kamina bhaag gaya! Then her eyes fell on his mask that was left behind. She picked it up and examined it. "Abh Iska kya karu main? Achaar daalu kya?''
