Happy Phirr Bhaag Jayegi Low Week One - Genius Dull

Happy Phirr Bhaag Jayegi had a low first week of 16.75 crore nett as it could not really hold up well on the weekdays and this will probably reflect in the second week collections as it will probably drop off. The film had a decent hold on Monday but that was probably some leftovers from Raksha Bandhan as it was mass centers holding best like Rajasthan and CI when its not really for those markets.

Happy Bhaag Jayegi released in 2016 had a first week of 17.50 crore nett and its a difference of 75 lakhs nett and if we take into account the new tax system with GST then that gap easily goes to over 1 crore nett. Happy Bhaag Jayegi had decent holds in week two and week three to reach 28 crore nett and with Happy Phirr Bhaag Jayegi it seems even 25 crore nett is difficult.

The film fared best in East Punjab with around 2.60 crore nett in the first week but it could not sustain in the circuit after a decent start. Delhi / UP was next at around 4.25 crore nett.

Stree Set For A Huge HIT

Stree is set to emerge a huge HIT as the film has grown around 50% on Saturday. This sort of growth comes for many films but the importance is that growth has come in areas which sometime struggle for big growth on Saturday and it is from a good first day level. A circuit like Rajasthan has grown around 40% which means decent acceptance in the mass circuits while big cities are doing very well anyway.

The second day collections will be around 9.50 crore nett and could even hit double digits which is huge for Stree and basically means the film has done the job as it is sure to cross 25 crore nett for the weekend. the film is performing better than Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety which was a runaway HIT. Stree will need Tuesday (Monday is holiday for Janmashtami) to have some sort of hold to confirm its HIT status but the way Saturday has gone it should hold well enough.

Stree Has Huge Jump On Second Saturday

Stree had a huge jump on Saturday of around 75% as it collected 7.50 crore nett. This has taken the nine day collections to over 71 crore nett and by the end of the weekend it is pretty certain to cross 80 crore nett. Till date the business is very similar to Raazi.

The film is the third sleeper SUPER HIT film this year after Sonu Ke Tito Ki Sweety and Raazi. These content films had a 60 crore nett odd range for a long time but generally the content films were urban but this year films have Sonu Ke Tito Ki Sweety and Stree have gone more commercial for a wider reach and music as an added bonus while Raazi is a bigger outdoor canvas feel as compared to other heroine led films. These films have taken the lower- middle films to another level which were stuck at a certain box office level for a long time.

The collections of Stree till date are as follows.

First Week - 59,31,00,000

Friday - 4,35,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 7,50,00,000 apprx

Second Weekend - 11,85,00,000 apprx (2 Days)

TOTAL - 71,16,00,000 apprx

The lifetime collections will dependent on how the films released in the next couple of weeks affect Stree but at the moment its going on the likes of Raazi which is around 120 crore nett plus but that film had a less clustered period in terms of releases in May.
