Thugs of hindostan: Why katrina kaif suraiyya has not impressed us all

Thugs of Hindostan starring Amitabh
Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh
and Katrina Kaif promises a grander
cinematic experience to the audience. The
movie directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya is
being produced by Aditya Chopra under the
Yash Raj Films banner. Thugs will see Katrina
return to the big screens in a glamorous
avatar as she plays the role of a performer
by the name Suraiyya in the action magnum
opus. Aamir Khan shared her first look for
the movie today but while we think she
looks hot as ever, but hasn't she looked as
hot earlier too?
At the time when all her contemporaries are
taking up challenging and versatile roles
which needs them to go some really tough
makeovers, Katrina seems to be playing easy
as far as her look is concerned. Apart from
the name, Suraiyya, there is nothing and we
repeat nothing new in the way Katrina has
been projected. Three days back the first
look of Amitabh Bachchan was revealed and
we were blown away. Then came Fatimah
Sana Sheikh and she left us in an awe. Post
that we thought that finally Katrina Kaif will
go the whole hog and do more than we
expect but boom, her first look reminded us
of just 6 previous looks that the Actor has
had. Donning a blouse and high slit skirt,
Katrina's makeup and gestures are all very
similar to her hit songs like Sheila Ki Jawani
[Tees Maar Khan], Malang [Dhoom 3], Chikni
Chameli [Agneepath], Do Dhari Talwar [Meri
Brother Ki Dulhan], Kala Chashma [Baar Baar
Dekho], Bodyguard title song. One thing
common in all of the above mentioned
songs are her looks, her style and her oh-so-
perfect abs. Even the seductive look she
gives to her poise, all are just the same.

Given this, we really were left disappointed
for Kaif, who, we believe, can pull off any
look. Her stylists for the movie really need to
take charge and gear up. With a film as big
as Thugs Of Hindostan where ones look can
he experimented with, Katrina has left us
yawning and how. Tomorrow is the poster
reveal of Aamir Khan and we are dead sure
he will surpass all his earlier avatars. Katrina
it is high time you take cue from your
seniors!

Well katrina does what she can do. It still earns her 7 8 cr per film. For 2 scenes and some seductive dances.

2/3 movies old fatima's teaser is much better (jaiho to mamu )than senior actresss katrina's dancer teaser ...Such a let down ! Seniority gayi tel Lene !! Poor her !

I think its useless to expect something hatke from Katrina at this point in her career (well Zero could be an exception so lets wait and see). She should just be allowed to do what she does best in peace i.e. sexy moves, dancing, latke jhatke and some action scenes here and there.

I don't get why Kat is spared from the expectations to do better when all the other actresses are dragged for being "wooden" or "overacting". If being left alone to do what one wants applies to Kat then it should apply to the rest too.

The whole purpose of an artist is to constantly evolve and improve oneself so just because she's given up on that doesn't mean the critique has to stop.

If we're going to be putting up with sub-par stuff from Kat then put up with sub-par stuff from everybody else too and don't complain about their acting.

I dont think people are asking for the criticism to stop; there's no way of avoiding it if one is a BW star. Its just that pepple have realized that its no good expecting acting from Katrina. Instead, its just better and easier to enjoy stuff she is actually good at: dancing and being sexy.

Every star cannot serve the same purpose. There are plenty of good actors out there whom we can watch for their great acting skills. Katrina exists to serve glamor- something that is much needed in an industry like BW.

The issue isnt her talent abilities - its the fact that sheLOOKS THE SAME>
