I think one of the reasons he turned to the weak minded, highly controllable Nandi is because he feels like a man, always running to the rescue. He loves how she slavishly cooks his kheer. He resents his wife for being successful and not making him feel like a man. You see for him to be a man, women have to be subservient. You see, highly patriarchal.
So yes, I am loving Rajdeep; at least he's not a hypocrite. Always watch the quiet ones

I am not saying Kunl is any better. One man's wrongs aren't going to wash other person's wrong. Both of these are hypocrites.

Rajdeep has no shame on what he has done till date and so is Kunal.

For me, one needs to stay away of men like both. They would never make a good life partner to a lot of women.

I don't think Rajdeep cares about Mauli, he wanted Mauli to see Nandini's true face because he wants to hurt both Nandini and Mauli.

Rajdeep does however seem shocked that Nandini could be that low that she'd betray her own best friend.

Rajdeep is also probably clever enough to know that Mauli would be broken by all of this, so no need to take revenge from her as of yet. Nandini and Kunal are another matter though, as to him it's as if Kunal is the barrier to getting Nandini back.

No, Rajdeep has never shown to have serious feelings for anyone from the beginning. For him, women are commodity to be used as pleasure & who must obey him always. Nandini was a kind of woman he could control, Mauli isn't. He is sadistic, dominant person who wants to dictate terms to other especially women.

He has shown to be highly patriarchal who wants to dictate life of his wife. Rajdeep never loved Nandini but he never loved anyone else either. He actually harassed Mauli in their first meeting.(Does that sound like a man with feelings)

Nandini was resentful of Rajdeep because of his vile, cruel, abusive & absolutely disgusting nature. He sold Nandini to another man for his project. And it was when she was his wife living under his absolute control.

Just because Rajdeep since last 4 episodes is shown to be sarcastic who is hell bent on revealing truth to Mauli, doesn't mean he is nice guy in any form. He is evil & he openly admits it without shame since he doesn't even know if he should feel shame for the horrific things he has done in past. Rajdeep has been hell bent on revealing the truth to Mauli so that Mauli faces the reality & hits the rock bottom so that he can have his way with Nandini. Under this mask of care, he is actually taking sadistic pleasure in all this.

One may like Abhinav's acting as Rajdeep. But he isn't worth pairing with anyone in the show even if he turns absolute saint which isn't possible for a human atleast.

These are all valid points.

but I want to know about Rajdeep's backstory. What made him despise humans so much.
What made him into an inhumane monster and misogynist.

I hope his backstory gets explored.

and while his sins will never be removed, he can perhaps become a better human being with some character development.

Yes, I was wondering the same. What made him like this? May be childhood he saw father abusing his mother...
May be Nan being that kind of woman ...did similar affair/attracted to/with someone else after marriage... and RD started to take revenge on her...by same torture she gave to him...

I know it is not acceptable what ever he did... will like to see the back story...

specially if CVs are trying to link him to a character like Mauli..

I have seen big criminals changed in life and living a normal life after ...

Rajdeep was always like this. He was never a better or saintly man. Nandini never tortured him in any form but he tortured her in every way a woman could be tortured.
As long as Nandini was with him, she was completely loyal and devoted to him but he is sadistic. Nandini-Kunal began much later.

Some people are cruel and sadistic, there is no backstory to it for them. It's in their nature. For Rajdeep it's all about being powerful who controls people in his life absolutely. No sane man would sell his wife for a mere project or show her to the world as if she is some escort.
This show has never delved into why particular character is this way, either Nandini, Mauli, Kunal or Rajdeep.

Indeed. Hopefully we get to see atleast some aspects of his backstory being explored.

Agreed. It's going to be extremely difficult for him to be redeemed though consider his rape incidents and murdering his own child. At the very least with some actual character development, he can become a better person serving his sentence in prison as the burden of sins are too high on his shoulders for him to live a normal life now.
