Good to see you back here. Hope you are feeling better now. About the font, it must have been the copy paste thing again. I'm not sure what font size I need to select in the editor here to fix that.

I was actually expecting Alexander to blow up upon reading the letter but when the episode aired, somehow I was actually fine with how he did react. Going by the CVs' track record I have not expecting this aspect to be fleshed out, but we'll see.

As to how I would have reacted had it been Anusuya instead, I can't really answer that. When she was being held captive by Shivdutt and tortured, I was just not able to watch those scenes after a point because I was too horrified. When Chanakya told Porus about it, he was ready to dash off to rescue her, but Chanakya asked him to control his emotions and not let it derail him or something like that. It wasn't exactly the same situation but it's the closest example I could think of. Would I have lauded her letter and analyzed it in detail? If it had been moving, I might have been tempted to, but in this forum I try to limit my comments on the PR track as much as possible where Porus and Anusuya are concerned. Besides, many of the PR supporters here themselves disapproving of Porus choosing his motherland over his mother, but I did not really comment on it back then. I had written a long post about Bamni's lament in court because I was very moved by it and really felt for him at that point.

The only time I have been really moved by Porus' bond with anyone was when Ripudaman was involved. I didn't take his death too well and I really felt for Porus. For me, the Anusuya-Porus bonding never had the same impact, perhaps because all the stuff around her giving him sanskaar, when she wasn't even around as he grew up, never hit home. I can't really put a finger on it.

I agree that the whole thing about sending Hephaestion off to look for Olympias and not coming back with the right information, fake news in fact, was just plain silly. As was the precap we saw a few days ago where Hephaestion informs Alexander on the beach that Olympias has been kidnapped, which was nullified by Alexander reading the letter in yesterday's episode. So the whole thing became very confusing for me. That precap had made me think that Hephaestion had indeed discovered the truth because we saw Alexander instructing him to get news of his mother. That aspect wasn't even covered, and neither do I expect we'll see Alexander tell Hephaestion off for making such a big mistake, the way he'd told Cleitus off for the bridge construction failure.

Sanskaari and Olympias seem like oxymorons. I hope that never happens. I just thought Chanakya meant he would help get rid of the effects of the black magic on her, rather than a soul-changing experience or something.

Now if Tiwari manage to find a way to turn hephestion against Alexander...I will give him award of creative genius...😛

Sanskari olympias will be a let down... Isse achha to mar hi Jaye...

My dear boy, how could you be so foolish as to think that I would be upset because of your arguing with me?

It was no such thing, and in any case I enjoy arguments. And I feel exactly the same towards you!🤗

I am trying my best to stay away from this stupid show and the forum. It has not yet worked for the show, and today it failed for the forum as well!😆 I don't have any relatives in Kerala, but the situation is bad enough, though it is beginning to turn now.

Not Hephaestion! Spare him!

As it is he is going to muck up the situation by threatening the Dasyuraj and enraging the Rani and they are going to destroy their bridge themselves. I could not fathom how he could be so stupid.😡

Well, my dear, I am not actually back, or at least so I hope! This is a hopefully temporary bout of recidivism. 😆

Your responses are characteristically conscientious and honest, and I found them really interesting.

Do take a look at my main post on page 4 of this thread.

Dear Vaishanavi,
Thanks so much for your detailed response!

I completely agree that both mother and son are something else while dealing with each other.

As to whether he will question Hephaestion? I don't think there is time for this. He sees nothing but the rescue of Olympias right now.

Alexander thinks that Ambhiraj uses the bura waqt to his advantage but he doesn't know that he has been planning ghaddaari for a long time now. When he found out about the letter and observed Alexander's reaction, he immediately started to think of how to take advantage of this opportunity. I won't be surprised if he tries to sabotage Alexander's rescue mission.

Great point about Chanakya's warning to Alexander about Ambhiraj. I had forgotten about that. It remains to be seen exactly how Ambhiraj will do this without letting his son be harmed. Ambhikumar is to his father the equivalent of Damocles' sword right now and Alexander's trump card! 😆

We know that the real Ambhiraj was killed, so it's possible Alexander punishes him for treachery.

You're right, Chanakya should have been following every move of Anusuya's after he noticed her strange behavior, but he did no such thing. He could indeed have prevent the letter being sent.

I still think from a kootneeti perspective Chanakya is convinced that Olympias is better left to die to weaken, but I think he's beginning to realize that her death will unleash revenge that knows no bounds instead of breaking Alexander. He will not just fight a regular battle against them with principles, he will burn entire cities to the ground and slaughter everyone. I think he is increasingly afraid of this.

Yes, Alexander would normally not be too pleased on discovering that his mother had attempted black magic, but given the fact that she was a prisoner trying to fight back, he might not be as angry as we think. Even if he is, his immense relief at finding her safe and sound again would override any other emotion. What he is most likely going to do is take her back to Taxila, make sure her health recovers and then ship her back to Macedonia to keep her everyone else out of trouble. 😆

Dear Inlieu

I liked your post very much! You have so beautifully captured the real essence of the scene with such detail and brought out the deeper aspect and hidden significance behind each line.👏

The most beautiful part of that letter from Olympias which you have highlighted is that she is still motivating him and showing her belief in him as she always did.. even when she is far away from him now. You are right in saying that we actually felt her presence as she read through the letter in that voice over. Her voice tone as she says 'Alexander, mere bete, kaise ho tum?' shows immense love and concern which Olympias has for Alexander. Both mother and son, irrespective of how much tough they are from outside, are something else while dealing with each other! ❤️

You have wonderfully described what Alexander must be feeling! From the feeling of guilt that it was because of him that she had to leave Takshashila to the feeling of hatred for himself for being unaware of his mother's suffering and not ensuring for her safety himself. Your description of change in Alexander's moods while he read the letter is perfect. I wonder, whether he is now going to question Hephaestian that from where was he getting the news of his mother's whereabouts?😆

I was also impressed by the fact that Alexander maintained his firm stance and focus even after reading the letter though at the same time he looked like he has been struck deep in his heart. Rohit was too good in portraying two kinds of powerful emotions of fury and hurt at the same time.

You have so aptly described the fine change in Alexander's demeanor as he turned to Hephaestian to answer him. The best part is that Rohit juggled between these two shades brilliantly and was back to his state of cold anger as he turned to Ambhikumar.

He was literally shaking with anger when he made the final call to Ambhikumar while clenching his teeth. This is the first time we have seen Alexander at the peak of his infuriation and this was bared upon that person who tried to separate him from his mother by hiding her letter. This shows us that Alexander truly reaches his extreme when it comes to his mother.😳

Ambhiraj intervenes at the right moment and strucks when the iron is hot as he stated earlier that he always waits for the right moment to draw things to his favor. Even Alexander appreciated his quick thinking to evolve a tactic to save his son as he compliments him 'Bure waqt par bilkul sahi baat kahi Shah-e-Taxila'. Even while under hostile circumstances or 'bura waqt' , he managed to chalk out a way to save his son.

I wonder whether Ambhiraj will take this weak moment of Alexander as the appropriate moment for making a political move to oust Alexander from Takshashila. He was clearly pissed off when Alexander rejected both his and his wife's plea for letting their son a second chance.

As Chanakya's each word has to be given importance, I am nearly sure of Ambhiraj's treachery at some point. Chanakya clearly warned Alexander while in prison to be wary of Ambhiraj. He said something like.. 'Chaploos jis paatr mein rehta hai usey khokhla karta hai'. So let's see! Chanakya's words are needed to be given some importance!😆

I absolutely loved those three lines of Alexander! Your aesthetic interpretation of those lines make them even more striking! Bravo! 👏

He says-
He will go on to join hands with anyone if that ensures his mother's safe return.. even if it compels him to count on the untrustworthy Ambhiraj.

He will not hesitate in sparing anyone's life if that ensures the safety of his mother's life.. even if it means going against his own principles to dismiss the punishment of a traitor that too when he hates treachery from the bottom of his heart!

He bored deep into Ambhikumar's eyes while saying those two lines, while burning from the inside that he is sparing the life of that person who is helping the person responsible for his mother's condition.

You wonderfully brought out the two fold meaning of Alexander's last line. This line emphasised that how much serious he is about his threat to Ambiraj.

As Ambhiraj said, 'kripa karke mere putr ko baksh dijiyega agar main aapka vishwas punah jeet saka', I think that Alexander is going to keep Ambikumar in his custody till his mother returns from PR as a precautionary measure to prevent Ambiraj playing on him.😆

This scene will remain special for me too. I also take this one as a throwback to their parting scene in Macedonia. Here, he remained truthful to every word he spoke back then.😳

Rohit was brilliant here! He depicted the rage in his eyes and the threat in his voice skillfully. At the same time, he remained authoritative and carried the graceful look of a suppressed violent fury on his face! PERFECT! 👏

Excellent observation about the placing of Macedonians and Taxilites! The Macedonians would also have got enraged and provoked by what happened.

Coming to Chanakya, even if I let go of the fact that he didn't warn anyone to remain wary of Olympias, then I just can't understand the fact that why didn't he keep an eye on Anusuya even when he suspected on her being under some kind of a spell. They could have prevented her from sending that letter to Alexander!

I think Chanakya was comfortable in letting Olympias die in PR as it would have served two purposes. First, Alexander would be devastated by her disappearance and would lose his wits. Second, they will get rid of any other potential danger she might pose if she recovers. He doesn't know that Alexander is already aware of her 'Sanskari Apahran' so he is thinking like this!😆

Yes! Alexander has always displayed his emotional side explicitly. I am now looking forward to your analysis on today's sequence after reading this wonderful piece of writing! Roxanne will finally come to know the hidden soft side of Alexander, the corner of his heart which just bores pure and innocent love and devotion.❤️

You have connected the atmosphere of the dark room shown in the precap to Alexander's emotional state at present wonderfully! Yes, the camera loves Rohit! The makers are pulling out the best in him by giving him such powerful brilliantly shot well written scenes. He depicted volumes of emotions in the precap alone!😛

His voice was shaky depicting the pain in his heart when he says, 'Humari jung mein, meri maa ko dhaal banaya hai us aalim Chanakya ne' but full of determination and passion when he pronounces he is going to teach them all a lesson for involving his mother into this! He sounded like a hurt lion! What a perfect voice modulation! Alexander didn't appear weak even in that deep sorrow. Roxanne seemed concerned for him but was also surprised at discovering a totally different shade in him.😃

I think that the mother-son reunion might not be what we are expecting! Alexander would lose his mind upon coming to know that she was doing her Kaala-Jadu! 😕

I hope Alexander will now tell Hephaestion off if he gets into a major fight with the Dasyus and they break the treaty.

But he is like a brother, so they can't become enemies. Maybe his punishment would be to marry Drypteis. 😉
