Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati is set to roll this September with Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in titular roles.
Reports earlier suggested that Masaan actor Vicky Kaushal would play the part of Rani Padmavati's husband Raja Rawal Ratan Singh. Kaushal had even auditioned for the role.

However, the 29-year-old Mastani actress has reportedly put her foot down after the news broke. She has allegedly asked for a bigger actor to play the role of her husband.

Actor Vicky Kaushal had auditioned for a role in Sanjay Leela Bhansalis movie Padmavati.

As per the script of this period film, Padmavati shares some intense romantic and lovemaking scenes with her husband and Deepika wants a big star as her hero, reports Pinkvilla.com.

"A random actor won't do for her. While she has no scenes with Ranveer, the role of Rawal Singh (her husband) has to be at par. Otherwise, the story won't work, the report further said.

The actress apparently has no steamy scenes with alleged beau Ranveer Singh, who will play Sultan Alauddin Khilji an obsessed lover. Rumours are rife that the duo would not even share screen space in Bhansali's ambitious movie.

At least the other reason makes sense after watching the movie. Shahid's role was sidelined and that too, after he signed on, his role was lengthened he said, so can imagine how short the role was originally! I am not saying that Vicky walking out news is 100% true, but the other article's lovemaking reasoning is fake af so it looks like they made up the whole thing. Maybe SLB rejected him, there are articles claiming that too, no one knows the facts except that Vicky was considered for the role and it didn't work out.

Don't know why it didn't work out. But the what if is so tempting. No matter what the size of role, vicky would have made more believable king. Shahid is a decent actor but not in this role. Imagining how dp and Vicky scenes would have looked. And the khilji and vicky in rajput costume, they could have killed it. And I could have actually listened to all the sanskriti and sabhyata in the world.

Umm...when the film is almost banned because of Padmavatis exposed 'navel', you think they can ever dare to show a lovemaking scene? 😆

Of course the final product on screen, wasn't what was written, thanks to some over sensitive folk(politicians). When 10s of sources carry the same story...it's more than likely True.
