When the show started we came across Ritwik as a rich, arrogant, playboy to whom what matters is only his family and friends. Rest he doesn't care. He had made a shell around him which can't be broken even by his dear ones.
But Palak on the other side was always smart, sensible, mature girl. She is not tat loud type quarrelsome oversmart leading ladies which we com across in other shows. Nor she is the coy one. She stands in the middle. Normal one like us. Tats y we can relate to her so easily. After Manmarziyan's Radhika this is a character which seemed relatable. Wearing normal dresses and behaving like a normal one. Not the ever sacrificing heroine who has the responsibility of the whole family on her shoulders. Surprised with Ekta for tat. I think she is not intervening in this show . Tats y this is so fast paced and relatable one. Hope it continues.
But once our hero heroine meet they are at loggerheads not coz of Palak but coz of Rikki since he thinks she is taking revenge. I liked how she challenged him to play fair for once. She was not reacting coz of preconceived notion but she was right about the medicine. She knows how to keep her personal and professional lives apart.And at Jaipur she got to see the real Ritwik who is caring towards children and respectful towards elders. She also got to know a little about his past.
From there their relationship grew stronger and reached a certain comfort level. And she somehow managed to break into the shell which Ritwik has created around himself.Ritwik had girlfriends but Palak was not tat . He could share anything with her even his insecurities which he doesn't even share with Ananya. He considers Ananya has his best friend but Palak was his true friend.And during the days of Reevas marriage he became so close to her coz it was the first time he was looking a girl in different perspective. He wanted to hear her views on love and his eyes were always searching for her when she was not around. To him it was the first transition from friendship to love. And when she hid about Samar he felt cheated and his trust was broken. It's natural we will be more hurt if someone close to us cheat. But problem with Ritwik was tat even though he trusted her it was partial not fully and along with the growing emotions which he has for her and not knowing what was happening to him he vent out all anger on her and blamed her for everything.It was Sameera who knocked the term' love' to him. At this realisation he became more vulnerable and frustrated coz how can he fall for one who is not trustworthy. He doesn't trust himself tat he can distinguish btw money minded and good people.And in order to free himself from Palaks thought and in order to assure himself he got engaged. Actually it was a rebound for the cheat ( according to him) Palak gave.
But the picture became clear and his blindfold was broken and he once again saw the reality when Rohit put some sense into him after Rikki created a ruckus at Rohit's engagement.
From there Ritwik had no looking back. He was drawn towards her and this time he trusts her fully. And admires and respects her too. He even confided about his real mom. Such is their bond. Ritwik senses a feel of security, protection,love and care around her. He always needed it. Even if Mamta has given him all her love it was distributed but with Palak it's not the case. He wants to be with her all time listening to him,guiding him and her love is for him only. Tats y when at the gym when Palak said he is not bad at heart he got lighted up. To him her opinion matters and now he feels a connect btw them which is not expressed by words but by thoughts.
And with the eloping fiasco these two got time with each other and Palak realised tat he is not in love with Ananya and herself fell in love with him. If her sensibility,trustworthiness and honesty were the qualities tat drew Rikki towards her it was his care,warmth, protectiveness, inner goodness and love for his family tat made her fall hard for him. Of course she was attracted by his charm but tat was limited to attraction but the qualities made her love him.
With the kidnapping drama going on and with realising themselves about the feelings they have for each other and with the fear of losing each other are making them taking foolish decisions. They don't want to part. She wants to be under his protection and warmth and he needs her love and care.
With Palak falling from the cliff Ritwik saw his world crashing down before him and jumped into the water body to get hold of his life. And when he saw her gaining her consciousness he couldn't control his emotions further and scolded her for risking his life and even confessed tat he couldn't live without her. But when replied tat she also can't se anything happening to him he was overwhelmed and all the emotions run thru his nerves and all he could do to express all the feelings together in one go was his kiss. It was out of love, care ,happiness to see her fine. It was a reflux to her reply . And when he looked into her eyes after the kiss he could see her selfless love for him. And with his own love overflowing they kissed again. This time as lovers. There was more love than care from the previous kiss. He wanted to tell her many things and she too had many emotions in her but everything they experienced thru their kiss.
As lovers they had many things to talk about but couldn't share a single word coz of Aman arrival. She was hurt to see Ananya hugging Rikki and she realised and felt like an outsider. Everyone else are his family and friends and being distanced from him made her lonely.Ritwik wanted to be with her but couldn't.She also felt bad for Ananya and may have felt tat she made a mistake by loving a man who is already engaged.
Coming to the future tracks. Will Palak be practical and will she choose to be away from Ritwik for the sake of both?Will Ritwik be able to continue with his engagement? How come Ritwik will control his emotions?Will Ritwik peep into her house at night as before just to see his love?Answer to all these questions will come in the future episodes. This is the best serial currently running in all channels. Everything about this show is just perfect. No words to express the chemistry btw leads. I was never a fan of KK but after watching him as Ritwik I can say tat he is not essaying Ritwik Noon But is living it. There are no inhibitions btw the leads and they are so comfortable with the each other. Each and every character of Dil Hi Toh Hai is tailor made for the actors essaying it respectively. Amazing casting director.I will be very happy if Ekta don't make this like her other shows and will conclude it in 250 to 300 episodes without unnecessary stretching.
