As Vandana mentioned, Zoya must have heard Adi's footsteps and might have thought it is Anjana and might have hidden in the bathroom. Adi enters the bathroom and then everything that was shown in the precap happens.

I feel Adi was not having eye contact because maybe he doesn't want Zoya to know what he feels for her whereas Zoya wants the eye contact to stare at his intense eyes the way she used to stare before 6 months.

Then Anjana turns up and looking at both of them, she might insult Zoya.

Adi will defend Zoya but later he might apologize to Zoya for all the insults and might tell her to cancel the contract and break their friendship. Zoya then might tell him what importance he has in her life and he is her best friend, etc.
