futile exercise to make biopics on people
who have always been in the public eye. It's
not clear whether he was talking about any
recently released biopic in Bollywood or
not.
As per a report in Times Now, Anurag said,
"I don't want to make biopics on people
whose life everybody knows. Jo na ek ajeeb
sa sense of forced lagtaa hai. Main biopics
banaa chukaa hu, true life stories banaa
chukaa hu (I have made biopics, true life
stories).
He further said, "Black Friday bhi true life
story thi, Muaaqbaaz bhi true life story hai,
agli bhi true life story hai; maine uske
camouflage kia hai, naam nahi liya hai
kahin. Sab kuch wahi se inspire hotaa hai
and I would rather do that than make a
biopic which is restrictive.
Interestingly, biopics are the flavour of the
season in Bollywood. Ranbir Kapoor-starrer
Sanju, a biopic on controversial Bollywood
star Sanjay Dutt, has taken the box office by
storm. Even this Friday saw the release of
Soorma, a biopic on former India hockey
captain Sandeep Singh.
