Excellent character summary of both our principals, my dear Vaishnavi.
You have underlined what I have stressed time and again, that Alexander never lays claim to any virtues, and indeed works hard to make his potential enemies believe that he is even more cruel than he really is.
Porus, on the other hand, is always holding forth about Bharatiya virtues, by which he actually means his own.
So naturally he has to be held to a higher standard of behaviour than Alexander.
Secondly, my felicitations on having flagged a point that no one else here has done, not even I. I thought of it, as I always do when folk in these serials produce corpses out of the blue😉, but I failed to mention it in my post. I am very glad that you have done it now.
The corpse has to be that of a Bharatiya, chosen so that the height and body build would match that of Porus. One hopes that Chanakya didn't murder some unfortunate chap in order to procure the dead body. He would not have hesitated to do so if there was no other supply😉 available.
Inlieu my dear, you are a bit off in extrapolating Alexander's attitude towards the Persians to the Paurav folk. There he wants to establish his reign on the sound footing of popular acceptance. Here, he repeatedly says that the Paurav awaam will have to pay for Porus' fault (in insulting Alexander before them). So he has no intention of sparing them.
Besides, what he does is only a variation of the classic tactics adopted by a besieging army, of cutting off food supplies to the besieged, so as to starve them into surrendering. Of course the Paurav Rashtra can always access food supplies from its hinterland, but even so it would be a major hardship.
This apart, the CVs are infantilising (if there is such a word) both Alexander and Porus with a vengeance.😡 The pair of them resembles nothing so much as a couple of squabbling schoolboys sticking their tongues out at each other.
Plus the pretence that ALL the food supplies for the whole o f Paurav Rashtra are stored in the capital, and that Alexander has an army of jewellers at hand to make all those gold fruit and rotis, plus the silver rice grains!! Pathetic nonsense.😡
This tit for tat is already getting to be boring, and it can only get worse.
I suppose that this tu tu main main, and assorted other inanities, will continue till episode 250, at which point Alexander will abandon his current bridge building idea, and actually cross the river by a brilliant manoeuvre. Then we will finally have THE BATTLE, and then the wrap up with appropriately solemn voice overs. Finis!!!
What I can't understand is how these two fighter cocks are to become not just friends, but allies as well.
Vaishnavi, I enjoyed reading your comments on
my three parter. We seem to be of a mind on almost everything, so I don't have to respond to that, do I? I am not well, and this about as much as I can manage right now. I am really pleased that you have shed your cocoon, and are spreading your wings energetically!

If I take analysis on both the characters unbiasedly..
Puru has been brought up by Ripudaman who instilled him with high moral values and made him learn the importance of Sanskriti and humanity. Moreover he himself is kind hearted and of a caring and sacrificing nature due to the inherent qualities from his mother. His mother later made him believe in Akhand Bharat and the need to remain united to prevent Bharat from the clutches of invaders.
Alexander has been brought up by a strong willed and a highly ambitious woman who has brainwashed him since childhood that he is not a normal human being but the son of a God who has to prove himself superior to everyone by uniting the whole world under one empire. She has made him believe that he is destined to conquer Sone ki Chidiya! The prophecy has also increased his will power as he now knows that he is nakabil-e-shikast. So, I don't blame him for his over-confidence at all.
When Alexander kills innocents, I am not surprised as he is very CLEAR from day one itself that he wants to see his khauff on every face and eye which confronts him. He takes the responsibility of all his actions and never hides them. He wants to be called cruel as this negative reputation will make his victory and reign, both a smooth operation.
But when Puru burns Persia for his escape, it becomes a matter of concern as he was never taught to hurt others. But this matter was neatly brushed aside and never became a point of discussion in the show just as it was never told that who was the man acting as the fake dead body of Puru. It can't be believed he was one of Alexander's Macedonian or Persian soldiers as they differ a lot in skin colour and appearance from Indians and it isn't possible to fool Alexander by giving them a makeover. 😆
Long story short..
CVs are doing serious glitches and they are being very incoherent and inconsistent in Puru's case.
