Actor Sidharth Malhotra will begin filming for his next SHORTGUN SHAADI at the end of this month in UP along with Parineeti Chopra but work for his follow up movie post this one is also happening simultaneously. The other movie in question is the brave true life story of the war veteran Vikram Batra. The movie is yet untitled and will be a co-production between Karan Johar's Dharma Production and Producer Shabbir Boxwala and will be directed by debutant Vishnu Vardhan. According to our sources, however, the makers have locked the female lead in the movie. The role is going to be played by Kiara Advani who was last seen in director Karan Johar's story from his latest Netflix movie LUST STORIES. Advani has been showered with a lot of praises and this announcement about the movie has come at the right time for her. The shooting for the movie is going to begin by the end of October and the makers are looking for a mid next year release for this one. Watch out for an official announcement on this one.

I think they will look good together. Am surprised KJo is giving Kiara opportunities (even if they are not high profile movies). As per wiki, her real name is Alia. That explains it 😆

Her real name is Alia? 🤣

KJo typically works with everyone, but I don't see Kiara having a big role in this film tbh. It might be like Dhoni's biopic. So it's natural that he would offer it to someone who's career he isn't in charge of. But finally though, glad to see others getting opportunities!

Sigh, I wish Vikram Batra got a better actor to play him though. Sid is just incapable for something of this magnitude IMHO. Like Saina Nehwal deserves someone much better than Shraddha as well.

Saina should have first asked about the actress before giving the approval. While Gupte is good director Shraddha is so much going to ruin this. Hopefully the movie is shelved 😆

Yeah her real name is apparently Alia 😆 Kiara seems to have got some critical acclaim from Lust Stories and she is part of Kalank too. She is no real threat to Alia though at this point so KJo doesn't care I guess 😆

Sid is not bad man. He was good enough in HTP and Kapoor and Sons IMO (I haven't watched his other films). I basically don't mind him. He looks great too so that's an added advantage 😆

Nah I don't think she is related to Juhi Chawla by blood. They are family friends or something. She is step great grand daughter of Ashok Kumar though. N her father is Saeed Jaffrey's brother.
