- Sanjay dutt befor Munna bhai MBBS & Lage raho munna bhai - 15 Flops/Disasters in a row

- 3idiot was 1st HGOTY of Aamir in OVERSEAS after his debut & made him popular in OVERSEAS

- Ranbir before Sanju has 5 out of 6 Flops /Disasters (1 moderate hit ADHM), this was his acid test.

Aamir's films performed well oversees post Lagaan...that was a gamechanger...

guess Fanna was the highest grosser oversees...

3 Idiots was the film that made inroads in non-traditional markets ...it made him popular in those countries...

I think with Aamir you are doing it silly.

He was already successful with movies like RDB, TZP and Ghajini in his kitty.

just like 3Idiots was Aamir's first ever HGOTY in OS same way it was also Hirani's first. Plus Aamir already did more in OS with Ghajini, than Raju did any of his previous movies.

I dint think it was Ranbir's overrated acting or his stardom making this movie popular. IT was Sanjay Dutt's "story" that people are curious to find out about and Rajkumar Hirani movie Ranbirs own contribution to the success was probably 30%

Aamir Khan is the first ever Indian actor in history whose film touched 100 crore with Ghajini. His film started the 100 crore benchmark. Hirani is undoubtedly a huge brand but you can't give him credit for reviving Aamir's career, Aamir's career had been thriving much before 3 Idiots came along.

Aamir's OVERSEAS Business of films were not huge, 3 Idiots made him Huge, 1st Overseas Biggest Hit of the Year.
