Why so much Punjabi culture in Bollywood?

I mean yesterday I was watching "Tumhari Sulu" and there is this beautiful song "Rafu" which was not at all promoted, but "Ban ja Tu meri Rani" became a sensation . My point is the characters were Marathi then why a Punjabi song there? Similarly every film is polluted with Punjabi rap songs . Hindi film Music is completely ruined by these nonsense rappers

Secondly most of the characters are somehow related to Punjabi, even though it changed little bit last year with some films based on UP and all , but majorly it is Punjabi crass culture based .

Punjabi crass culture is ruining the sophistication of Bollywood movies .They are mostly about rich people and it seems educated middle class are gone.

My problem is not against the Punjabi culture, My point is it is too much of it in hindi films now

I clearly said, Punjabi rappers, I love Punjabi sufi songs. but do the music directors use them?

I am sorry if I offended anyone or any people from that community . But it is my opinion about the use of the only loud side of Punjabi culture in hindi movies.

Because majority of the producers n technicians are punjabi's. Movies/theatre were centered around undivided punjab n sindh before partition and most of them moved to mumbai post partition n made mumbai their home. Their future generations took the industry forward so initially their movies were the only thing that connected them to their roots so they depicted punjabi culture a lot in them.

Because punjabi music is awesome!
Almost all the top Chartbusters of the year are Punjabi from Bom Diggy to Dil Chori to sanu ik pal chain to the recent tareefan. So was last year with Suit Suit, Kala Chashma, Dil Diyaan Gallan etc. So was the year before. Maybe it's pollution for you, but lots of people love it, enjoy it. Doubt your Kangana would be a queen without London Thumakda either.

When people start enjoying Bengali music, you can have that. CIAO!

All Punjabi songs are not bad but Bollywood promotes the trashy ones

Trashy & Classy is subjective and considering how well they do, most people disagree with you.

I, for one, have no interest in listening to slow sad sitar. Pump up the Dhol any day.

Wow so Bengalis are "sophisticated" and Punjabis are "crass"👏.
On topic, Punjabi music industry has been doing really good, even when Indian pop music died down; punjabi music always had an audience. Most of the BW movies, need chartbuster numbers to lure the audience and most punjabi songs do that. Many of the songs that are added in the movies, are past punjabi songs that have already been popular so its easier for them to connect to audience.
In addition to that, many of the film industry families such as Chopras, Kapoors, Johars are all punjabi so its natural for them to make movies pertaining to their culture.
