Is it right?

Is it right to call domestic abuse victims "abla naaris', "dukhiyaris", "becharis" and so forth? Is it not putting down their pain,their horrors,their trauma ,their scars (both mental and physical) and reducing them to derogatory labels? Why is it that some people refuse to see Nandini's pain and trauma and are judging her even before any EMA or cheating has happened. Does being in an abusive relationship automatically make someone dukhiyari and abla? Is that how we should start referencing all women who have experienced domestic violence ? Would that label be an appropriate one if God forbid it had happened to someone we knew of? Does it not come across as insensitive?

first of all are we not aware the basic concept ... makers never hide what the show is about so crying crying things no use ... you have remote , control it babes ...no one forceing you
now back to this , in all i hate the word ' Abla Nari ' .. im not hardcore feminist type but still it feel like too unfair to any woman . it actually common to call them by names , it's like taboo which won't change
agar hum ek cheese baar name calling karte hai toh automatic uska wohi naam par jaata hai ... similar to this too
and this another ugly but real truth of society .

It's not just abla or weak, apparently nandini deserves the slaps that she gets from rajdeep for tolerating the violence and apparently such women doesn't exist and are not relatable. 🤢

A very good post Nish!! but for people around us shaming someone for their modern cloths is wrong, whereas we see the same people shaming people for traditional clothing! same way, name calling a victim may seem right to them!!

Is that very simple to term someone as abla nari..they have much strength to endure all this abuse ..if they can endure so much pain certainly they can show their power when needed...terming someone as abla nari who is going through so much is just shows insensentive

We are in a country where the crime rate against women are increasing day by day in the form of physical violence, dowry, female infanticides, rape, honor killing, sexual assault(marital rape) and so on.

I am appalled to see the hatred these victims are getting.I am stunned to see the mindset of people towards the victims.

The bottomline is, every one talks about Women empowerment, but when it comes to the real implementation people don't even want to treat them as one among them, forget about empowering them

I dont think they really know what WOMAN EMPOWERMENT or PROGRESS OF WOMEN means!! For a girl from educated and modern background, getting a high salaried job or a chance to sattle in a rich country is progress, but for a girl who belongs to BPL, even getting the minimum education is progress! and same goes for Woman Empowerment! without mocking the victim ,we should rather give them a support so that they get the courage to support themselves!!

No it isn't, but we can go by simply what the show provides us. Till now I see only this. Now it may change later. Then I shall support Nandini but not now😡 .
