Promotions does matter a lot but when you have a strong storyline along with such popular faces like DD Shakti it covers the lack of promotion😉And I personally don't consider shows like Ishqbaaz a 'Competition' to Silsila

I was just putting a logical POV... I didn't even intend to offend you...

1) Bepanah opened great but toppled because the3 story is not what TRP aunties like, that's what I meant when I gave example of Khan movies... They do great on the first day after it everything depends upon the WOM...

2) If DD and Shakti were to cover the lack of promotion then 1.1 wouldn't have been the case, right? I am not trying to offend you or belittle anyone, just rebuking your point with reality.

3) Ishqbaaz is competition because the time slot is same, I never spoke about content...

Again please don't try to look for an underlying tone, there's none... My first post itself was defending Silsila but you got defensive for no reason...and I mentioned Bepanah only because it tells you that the first week TRP are not about the plot, Bepanah was heavily promoted, if the TRPs were due to the plot it wouldn't have gone so low within a week... So my point was that TRP for plot will come next week and hopefully Silsila will be in Top 20

so i take that the TRP are decent enough for this week, thats good news
Hoping with the following weeks it only picks up, as for Mauli and Kunal scenes then yes WAAAY TOOO close for me, the glu-e-fying needs to stop or tone down a little. It gets way too akward when your watching it with your mummy n all 😳

I'm excited for Nandini AND Mauli's story,

IMO, this show will pick up with time. The writing is good and the story though not a typical family drama, has elements like a female lead undergoing torture that grabs eyeballs. Plus it is backed by strong performances. The writers just need to make sure that it doesn't deviate from track and they don't add unnecessary tracks in order to get TRPs.
The opening night not be a grand one because of many reasons. Firstly, the show didn't get promoted as heavily as Colors shows usually get. Also, the competition is tough in the 10.00 pm slot. Colors has already lost viewers to Zee and SP courtesy DSDT's pathetic TRPs in its last two months. It will take time for viewers to come back.
The bold/intimate scenes can also be a reason, especially in the opening episode. I myself experienced how awkward it was to watch with the whole family on TV (its even more difficult if you have kids around). I didn't dare to switch to Silsila at 10.00 pm after the first episode, and had to wait till weekend to catch the repeats.
