Priyanka is one of the only Indians to have made a successful career in Hollywood. Her fan following in the west is a proof of it. She has already made everyone sit up and take notice of her acting talent in hit TV series Quantico, she also transitioned to Hollywood films with last year's big summer flop Baywatch. And now her second film, A Kid Like Jake has created history by grossing a whopping $12,931 in 9 days. This is widely considered to be one of the biggest ever opening for an indie filck this year.We are so proud of you ,Priyanka!!

She had a small role. The reviews are mediocre.

The film is currently screening in one theatre. I don't think it will do well, once they add theatres.

This has to be satire. 😆

Maybe it'll serve as a reality check for PC. Still don't get why she's doing these 5 minute roles in flop HW movies when she could do much better in BW. 😕

I don't think you understand what an independent film is, I don't think most people on this forum do tbh. It only released on 1 screen in 1 theatre in NYC so far and no one expected independent films to make big money anyways. Also if Octavia Spencer can do a supporting role in this film then why not Priyanka?

If she wants to hustle and work her way up from small films in Hollywood then more power to her. Idk why that's looked down upon. It would be much easier for her in Bollywood, she has 2-3 films coming up there too but Priyanka isn't afraid of hard work and will continue breaking through in Hollywood as well.

I do understand what indie movies are & even for an indie movie 12k in more than a week is a joke. BW indie movies make more than that lol.

As much as I think it's a stupid move by Priyanka to chase Hollywood, to be fair to her the film has only been released in one theatre. It has opened reasonably well that way.

Even someone like Freida pinto who is considered as a Flop in this forum has done much better than PC at US box office on its opening weekend

* Her Indie Flick Trishna which received average reviews ( never even promoted) grossed $29,000 (in 3 theatres) on its opening weekend!

* Her 2009 flick Miral which received negative reviews grossed $66,246 in 4 theatres.

It released on 1 screen in 1 theatre in NYC for 1 weekend so far, that's 3 days. So you nor this article or whatever TM wrote himself has any idea what they're talking about. And if Octavia Spencer can do a supporting role in this film then so can Priyanka. People that have seen it say PC did a good job too. Priyanka said there's no such things as small roles so I'm sure she's happy
