He knows that and it would be beneath him to expect otherwise. He didn't marry Roxanne to "get" her in that sense. He loves her and wants to share his life with her, but also wants to ensure that she is close enough to him and his life to give her the chance to fall in love with him.

I had said in a previous post, Alexander doesn't need to woo her specifically or force her to accept this relationship, she will fall for him in time when is he just being himself.

Roxanne attacked his pride today on several fronts, including but not limited to: his ability to execute his vision of conquering Bharat, of being able to really live up to his words of getting her anything she wants, and most importantly of being "worthy" of her love. I won't be surprised if she uses the jealousy card at some point. Alexander said he's used to winning and not losing, and she puts forward the condition that he will win her and her love if he conquers Bharat. This definitely offended him. Rohit's eyes communicated Alexander's tiny moment of vulnerability and something else that I can't quite describe very well here. I need to watch that scene again to be sure.

Roxanne's words made me feel that her love is conditional, i.e. if you do this or that then you can have my love, whereas Alexander's is unconditional. Maybe that will change over time as she accepts him, let's see. Alexander is able to love without limits and without pre-requisites. The fact that Roxanne doesn't love him makes no difference to his love for her, but it does make him want to prove to her that his intentions to marry her were genuine and pure. I am convinced that, in theory, even if she does not fall in love with him in future, he will not stop loving her. Though it is quite likely the CVs will show her falling for him at some point, I would prefer that this does not happen. That she continues to capture his heart but never really loves him the same way. His marrying Barsine would also make sense in that case but I think we'll run out of episodes before that.

The confidence with which Alexander said that she will understand his reasons for marrying her and accept his love and this relationship one day gives me hope that we will get that scene.
