Actress is on-board Nitesh Tiwari's next, a social drama expected to roll by November.

A day after writer-director Nitesh Tiwari announced his next directorial, a yetuntitled next in collaboration with Sajid Nadiadwala and Fox Star Studio, Mirror has learnt that Shraddha Kapoor will play the leading lady in the social-drama. The news comes a month after Mirror had reported (April 22) that Sushant Singh Rajput is playing the protagonist, an engineering student, in the film.

"A story I am excited to tell. Releases on August 30, 2019. Cast to be announced soon, stay tuned, Nitesh had shared on Twitter on Thursday. "The film is a riveting story on today's generation, Sajid had added.

The film is expected to roll by November and Sushant and Shraddha will be allotting bulk dates for its start-to-finish schedule. A student-drama with a social message, the film is set in an engineering college and is about embracing success and failure with equanimity. "The actress has had multiple meetings with the makers and is keen to come on board the film, but is yet to sign on the dotted line, a source told Mirror.

Nitesh, who bagged the Filmfare Best Director Award for Dangal, last co-wrote the hit romcom, Bareilly Ki Barfi, with Shreyas Jain, which was directed by his filmmakerwife, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and he has co-written his next as well.

Meanwhile, after wrapping up a major portion of Abhishek Chaubey's dacoit-drama Sonchiriya in the ravines of Chambal, Sushant kicked off the final schedule of Abhishek Kapoor's Kedarnath last month, which features him alongside debutante Sara Ali Khan. After he is done with Kedarnath, Sushant will jump into Mukesh Chhabra's directorial debut, the Hindi remake of The Fault In Our Stars, which is being produced by Fox Star Studios, for which he has locked two months.

Meanwhile, Shraddha still has a song sequence and few more days of shoot pending on the Prabhasstarrer Telugu-Tamil-Hindi trilingual Saaho. The 31-year-old actress also resumes prep for Amol Gupte's Saina Nehwal biopic shortly, which rolls in September.

Honestly, I sometimes feel some actors do get a 'raw  deal 'in the industry, not because their lack of talent, but because some other..factors.
Like lack of support from insiders, or someone not favoring them and making sure they get 'shafted'.
SSR seems to be seen as 'arrogant'- dunno why this is more bandied about than his acting talent. Oh, well.. Let's hope he and Shraddha have a good run .
