R: how was Japan n how was ur break?
NM: Japan was life transforming...one of the best countries i have been too.People r like kindest people i have met.By the end of trip, we were questioning ourselves what kind of life we r living in the city we do. It opened beautiful experiences n met beautiful people. It was exactly what my life was needed at this point.
R: Ishqbaaaz has made into Top 10 most watched shows on tv in India.
NM: yes, the news just came in last night.
R: another good news is in UK IB is being moved to 8pm form next Monday?
NM: Great.
R: how Ishqbaaaz has been for u during the last few weeks...in few words?
NM:It's pretty awesome. We r going to be 2yrs next month and it continuous to feel special with all the love and new people and audience r getting to attached to it...feed back which we get and thelove which we get is beautiful.
For any show life gets easier after one yr of filming as work gets easier, filming gets easier but in Ishqbaaaz that never happens. we r always upto something new whether it be action, drama, it really takes a lot of u
R: Don't u get bored of current track or bored of playing SSO as it''s been two yrs..long time
NM: Tbh, i was joking with my producer,gul,n telling her that there was never a day when shivaay woke up happy and told Annika "let's have a cup of chai today"😆 We r always on steroids 🤣 we r always upto something😆 Would u just give me a scene where I wake up and have chai with my partner but that doesn't seem to happen🤣
tbh,i will not have it in any other way becasue the kind of work we all r getting to do on the show is what every actor wants..u want to see heroes taking up the bad guys...and that is what we all work towards for...yes it is hectic. but abt monotony, I have to be completely honest to u...i feel one in a many days like that but again i realise what an amazing opportunity i have and i quickly sort of get out of it...It's human to feel once in a while ...😳
R: as an actor how does he feel looking at all the love from fans across globe worldwide for Ishqbaaaz, SSO, and also Pkdh
NM: Interesting...when I went to Japan, no one knows me there as they don't watch indian shows. So no selfies, no pics...me n jankee r taking pics alone. 😆 on 5th day of vacation, Jankee asked whether i'm feeling weird that no one asked for pictures and for once i felt people don't watch what I do anymore🤣 once u become an actor u always crave for an acknowlegement , u want people recognise ur work whether be it good, bad or ugly or whatever...😆 But in japan, i'm fortunate to have felt the love everywhere i went.😳

R: did u ever think ur life would be like this as in it would change to this extent..from pkdh to Ib
NM: I changed a lot personally n at work too. i feel lucky and also the love has grown with ishqbaaaz ..but more than that it gives me opportunity and encourages me to do what i want to do ..i literally live someone else life in characters which everyone dont get to do that and as an actor u get live maybe 100 lives😆

R: what do u think it makes Ib so diff n special
NM: I think a lot of pre production where lot of work was done.Everyone r just so appropriate for the part they do. be it creatives, writers actors, channel everything came togther perfect at right time n got the show out at right time. that's what it is.
R: asked abt metoo upcoming track
NM: I don't know the upcoming as we work according to screen play. Right now we r working on many social issues and this could be part of it. i'll be more than happy for metoo campaign if it's coming uup.
R: how much feedback u take from online fans and give it back to creatives or writers on current tracks?
NM: tbh, i'm taking feedback and i try to incorporate in whatever i do. but when it comes to creatives, they have that expertise to do and needs no intervention. Sometimes viewers get frustrated saying they don't get what they wanted but i think we should trust the creatives and let them do what they r doing because in the first place they created the show and made everyone fall in love with it...so they know how to do it and hold them all as they want the best for their baby...i personally have a chat with them when i feel i can have but otherwise i trust them with their fabulous job
R: how do u manage to create the same chemistry of shivika onscreen even after two yrs
NM: we don't analyse it, we dot think abt it...everyday is new day..approaching new scenes and trying to do something new with it..
cool thing is we don't choreograph anything abt scenes and we go with the flow... i'm more than happy if she throws some new things at me and she is equally accepting when i throw new things at her..that creates newness all the time. I think there is unknown things still between us which we keep discovering each day as an actor and that makes it interesting n cool.
R: if u r a viewer for urself of ib WHAT would u say abt chemistry...do u say haaye haaye Shivika or say u should do job better 😆
NM: i think we do fairly good job and i would watch this couple 😆 I actually looked at few scenes and even when we do it after sometime i felt sometimes it is great. Maybe i don't say looking at myself or both ourselves and say wow..i can't get better than this..i don't gloat on this. but i enjoy the fact that people accepted that we do look good together.
R: if given a chance to hold phones of kunal, lee , SC who would be the last person in their call records?
NM: Interesting. This is Classified information. i would know who is on sc and kunal call list..but i would never know who is on Lee's call list as he is very mysterious and chuparustom😆 u don't know what's happening with him. so u would want to know who has called lee for sure.
Kunal will have probably bharti. SC has some weird initals and i don't know what they r supposed to meant ...she has something with K AND Something with S and i don't have any clue abt it😆
R: ther's a request from raj to Nm to ask Leenesh to do his interview which has been pending since long. almost evryday lee gives a bahana 😆
NM: just to say,lee is not a person who speaks on phone mostly..it's kind of hard to get him and i understand why but will try and push him for interview.

R: which dance form did u enjoy shooting the most in show?
NM: I have a lot of them. we recently had one seq too "raste pe jaa raha tha".. alot of times we choreograph the seq by ourselves.It's interesting to do it as we r not choreographers n not dancers.so its fun to do it. even ainvayi ainvayii seq was great. Gandi bhaat with MAhi was my best work and i really put everything in it.I'm shooting one tomorrow with the boys a song from yes boss (if he remembers).
R: what would u want to see in ur charcaters Annika n shivaay...just be creative as u want😆
NM: Shivaay owns billion dollar business , he wants to be an artist, he wants to go to london, maybe Leceister, he would take up a job of radio jockey, it's gonna be on sabras radio and play music, interviews cool people,..n shivaay will be like Raj...and that's what Shivaay should do🤣
Annika...will be a secret lover of Raj😉🤣
R: what was one of the most defining moments in ur life?
NM: one was when my grandmother passed away when I was pretty young...i saw elders going through it strongly held on to each other...it had made me far more compassionate and mature seeing my family go through all that
second, when I worked in Telugu movie even before television, i worked hard for that movie as i learnt alot,,,i didn't know language. I had to travel all the way from home in flight to shoot. But that had taught me alot, that also made me realise why i want to act, would i still want to act if i had to go through all the challenges i was going through back then and finally i got an answer yes, i would want to act, as its magical and beautiful between action n cut.👏
R: one question u would want to be asked?
NM: tbh, i like doing interviews with u...but i don't like being interviewed because almost all questions r knowing abt u and already many knew them. If I'm given a chance to ask question, then i would want to know what the process is,of an artist, what does he feel, what was he thinking when he shot that scene, how does he wake up before doing that scene...those type of questions are interesting and i would probably ask those questions to somebody.
R: Tell something which is goona happen with Shivaay and Annika characters in terms of storylines?
NM: Now we r going to do a lot of social issues. shows r meant for entertainment but ones it becomes a brand, we also need to go beyond entertainment and leave a msg to society through show and aslo help people make their lives better. so, yeah, we r doing that in the form of thematic episodes and i feel we stepped in right direction. We feel audience will enjoy it and also we will enjoy it.
