ADHM was also hyped like no tomorrow but what happened ??people came out of the theatres cursing !And at the end of the day it just crossed 100crs inspite of all the contoversy and kjo's rona dhona !

Padmavath on the other hand got good WOM and people flocked to theatres and came out praising !thats the difference !

That's tuff.This websites articles are all a hoax, they credit Aamir's success in China to him looking Chinese. They lose all credibility right there, not that they had any to begin with, they never show housepitality bunch of jokers i tell u

PD did well because it sold itself to the audience. SIMPLE

Padmavat had big opening because of Karni controversy but the movie was running near housefuls till the sixth week in many cinema halls.
So it is not just Karni effect.
BOI toh Ranveer se credit chinna chahta hi hai na, unke fabs ko peeche jo chorr diya hai.

BOI also credit it to Shahid Kapoor who dint hve a 100 cr hit before padmaavat.. lol

SLB-DP-RS the TRIO deserves all the credit.

Any movie showing for 100 days these days means its phenomenal coz these r the days when a movie runs at a cinema for 2 n a half weeks means its a hit.! BOI is just embarassing themselves.

The movie got huge hype because of Karni Sena, but was also banned in 3 states because of the controversy. So in the end, it neutralizes the effect of the controversy. The movie worked because of its content. Though I hated it, but can't deny that this movie has got the second best WOM after Dangal in this decade.

The credit for Padmaavat's success goes to SLB>>Ranveer>>>Deepika.

Zabardasti hai na... sab apni marzi se bhi kisi ko bhi kitna bhi credit de do... Maybe we should run a regression equation here... What model is suitable when all dependent variables are binary? 😆

Anyhow, movies work as a full package, it is not like you can't truly quantify who deserves how much of a credit, unless it is a Salman Khan film 😛

I am going to try do the numbers 😛

Taking Kick as base case for Salman Khan and Salman Khan as the benchmark for box office making Kick worth 26 cr

Now assuming 4% inflation for 4 years, that is roughly 30 cr... Now Tiger Zinda Hai opened at 34 cr

Which would make Katrina worth around 4 cr (ETT is not really a franchise, guys)

Now given that both Katrina and Ranbir are doing badly nowadays and Jagga Jasoos didn't have anything else to it... Ranbir is worth 4.5 cr (from that 8.5 cr opening)

Now taking it back two years and as Ranbir has been doing bad post Bombay Velvet, Ranbir was worth 4 cr, so Imtiaz and Deepika were worth roughly 7 cr... But then Imtiaz limits openings rather than increase them... I will put Deepika at worth 7 cr in 2015... which would make her worth around 8 cr today... Assuming no change in Brand Value

Which is bigger than Raazi's opening... I would say adjusting for Meghna Gulzar and Patriotism, the Alia brand is worth around 6.5 cr
