Yes Mangalsutra carries a lot of weightage for those who believe in marriage. Its vows and its sacredness. It is not just for the wife, it is for the husband also. If you look ritual wise tying of the sacred thread is the real first intimate moment between husband and wife as the husband would have to move closer to the wife to tie it properly.( I am not talking about today's live in relations moving in to marriage, but talking about those relations where intimacy happens between couple post the marriage). Emotion wise it is a symbol of trust.
She says Adi doesnt understand what it means. But Adi knows. For putting it on Mahi he doesnt care a bit. Because he knows she doesnt care for it. But when Virani asked him to put it on Zoya Adi's face was a beauty. The emotions were choking up in him. He knows for this girl that thread means a lot. I was sure he wont violate her or her beliefs. And I strongly feel he will manage the situation and allow her to wear that MS herself.
The gentle Zoya is his last hope for whatever good he sees in that world. She is that person who believes in things he believes. Today Virani shouted at Zoya for arguing with her husband. But Adi likes this fiesty Zoya who challenges him at one end, but can be feminine and soft on the other end. She can push him to a corner and she can soothe him too. She can evolve him, question his habits, but still he wants her. Adi pushes Zoya to discover herself, he pushes her to see the world, he pushes her to see the life.
He sees in her a woman who told qubool hai not when he argued but when people gave her money from their savings.She fights it out. She has her moral compass but she is compassionate.
What I liked the most about the episode was Mahi in blue color with Adi and Zoya holding the mangalsutra sides in their hands. Blue is the color of ocean, it is the color of sky but most importantly the color of poison. So she is the poison of that love story who will keep Adi and Zoya at both ends but a third party will ensure they are together as Mahi will have no say there. She will be simply pushed into the corner.
Adi has lost belief in marriage. Zoya after getting cheated still believe in that institution, its symbols.She will restore Adi's soul and he will ensure she learns to live with good and bad.
