In a sense, Sridevi was much like Jayalalithaa. She knew her mother had decided her fate at the tender age of four, when she probably couldn't decide whether she herself wanted to wear a frock or a skirt. Probably at a personal level, there were showdowns. But that was never for anyone outside to see.
Like all leading ladies of her times, she was tight-lipped about what she had to go through to land a role. Was she a victim of the casting couch? We will never know now. Because, no matter what, she focused on transforming herself onscreen, and maintaining her market share to keep the industry's coffers full. It gave her power.
In her lived an insecure child who never wanted to open herself up to the world, for the world would see her vulnerability. Her large eyes clearly spelled the message don't come close to me'.
From my personal experience with her, the only time I ever saw her in peace was in front of the camera that too only between Action and Cut ..That's because she could cut off the harsh reality and escape into her own fantasy world.

Do u know that sridevi was the sole breadwinner of her family from the time she was 6..
