Sonam-Anand Wedding, Farah to choreograph Sangeet, Kjo to perform!

The latest titbit on the wedding of the year is that Sonam Kapoor's mother Sunita requested the ace choreographer Farah Khan to do all dances for the sangeet event. We hear the entire industry is up and about with this event and are totes excited to put on their dancing shoes to groove to Sonam's amaze dance numbers like Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai among other songs. So the gala event might take place somewhere between April 29 to first week of May and there is sangeet, wedding and grand reception planned. There is a report that the family might consider keeping the two functions, wedding and sangeet, on the same day but there isn't a confirmation on the same yet!

There are rumours that Karan Johar will put out a surprise act for the bride and will dance on Prem Ratan Dhan Payo title track, choreographed by Farah! Now, that's a biggie. Aside from this, rehearsals are underway at Anil Kapoor's residence for the Sangeet and the choreography by Farah is a wedding gift to Sonam. We are sure Farah along with Kapoor family will create some spectacular moments for the bride and groom.

There were rumours that Sonam's wedding was planned at the exotic Geneva but the family decided against it because it would have been a little difficult for other older members of family to attend it. Also it was rumoured that the Kapoors toned the celebrations a notch down owing to the sad demise of their family member, Sridevi, a few months ago. Is choreographing acts on the bride-to-be's hit songs, among others

Last week, Farah Khan directed Sonam Kapoor along with co-stars Kareena Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania as well as rapper Badshah, for a song titled "Tareefan in her home production, Veere Di Wedding (Mirror, April 12). Now, we have learnt that the Kapoor family has entrusted Farah with the responsibility of choreographing songs for Sonam's upcoming nuptials with Delhi-based beau Anand Ahuja.

"Rehearsals have kicked off at Anil Kapoor's Juhu bungalow. The doting dad and mom Sunita will be putting together a special act for the bride-tobe at the sangeet. Sonam's cousins and extended family have joined in as well for the pre-wedding ceremony. They will perform on her hit songs like the Veere... title track, "Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai from the Fawad Khan co-starrer Khoobsurat, the Prem Ratan Dhan Payo title track, and "Dheere Dheere from her music video with Hrithik Roshan, among others, besides other popular wedding songs, a source close to the family revealed, adding that Sonam is expected to join in for a special act.

According to the source, Farah was chosen because of her close ties with the Kapoors that dates to her early days in the industry. "Anil and Sunita have known Farah since the time she started out in Bollywood. Over the years, Anil has danced to many hit numbers choreographed by her. Meanwhile, Farah had been brainstorming on the ideal wedding present for Sonam and Anand when she decided to take charge of the sangeet celebrations, the source added.

Mirror had earlier reported that Sonam and Anand's wedding is set to be a three-day affair to be held between May 710 in Mumbai and will be preceded by mehendi and sangeet ceremonies. The reception is to be held at a suburban five-star in Mumbai.

Sonam and her friends are great entertainers at weddings, so this one being Sonam's own gonna be pretty fun.
