Why TMKOC still gets good TRPs ?

It beats me how TMKOC still gets good TRPs and is constantly in Top 5 shows. Don't get me wrong, I have seen most of the first 500 episodes of the show even till 1200-1500 and for sure they some were really good funny and entertaining. Later the show started deteriorating and I could no longer watch the crap it is showing now. I catch up with the show once in a while and watch online. Actually not even watch it, just listen to it while cooking my dinner or while doing some chores. I don't even have to watch because I can imagine what expressions/dialogues each character must be having and I am right mostly !😆

I saw today's episode just out of curiosity because TRPs are good again and I don't know what to say. Does the producer think the Indian audience needs class 1 EVS/moral science lessons ? What was that Maharaj's note? Was that even needed ? Like wash your hands before eating ! 😲 Who is the target audience for TMKOC? Some children or some illiterates ?

And why is it necessary to have atleast one character per episode telling in flashback about what just happened in the day. Filler episodes ki hadd hain ! Actually every epsidoe is just stretched beyond tolerance.

And surprise is there are actually people who watch this snoozefest and give TRPs. That too for years and years !🤔

There are other shows on every channel where TRPs would drastically reduce if such time-pass is shown ! Even a small unwanted change in track can drive the audience away. How is it that TMKOC still maintains good TRPs ? Anyone can solve this puzzle for me ?

In my family kids love the show. They watch it everyday and even the never ending reruns!
Sometimes we have to beg them to allow us to watch something else over the weekend 😆

May be because loyal viewers are still watching the show or because there is no villain or vamp in tmkoc so some prefers tmkoc over others shows.

I agree it is a clean show with no negativity plus the middle class people feel closer to the characters with their everyday life. Also compared to other OTT comedy serials this is much better show. No doubt about that but each episode is stretched too much. Plus there are at least 5 minutes in the episodes which are wasted in flashback.

Loyal viewers don't get bored ?

@bold Exactly ! Yesterday's episode felt like it was meant for kids. Maybe they are the target audience😆

what i am saying is there are many shows where vamps villains keep winning and the leads losing.Those shows are equally boring as tmkoc at least tmkoc does not show anything like that.So i think some prefer watching tmkoc no matter how boring it is.that's why trp is high.

Why Indiaforums is not having a separte show spot for saathpheron ki herapheri which stars Shekhar suman and other good actors? It is the best slapstick comedy as of now.

Tarak Mehta is good only because of Jetha. Without him, the show is nothing. all the others overact except tarak. Jetha and Tarak are carrying the show which has become repetitive and dull.

Lot of reasons..

1) The show is based on a popular Gujarati column. It has a brand to sell.

2) Clean comedy.

3) True fan following lkkr any other popular show. This is how YRKKH and SSK also keep going on

4)No real competitor in this timeslot. Not one good comedy show on air. Every show is a replica of a previous show.

5) Propagating PM and ruling Party's schemes. From Swach Bharat to Beti bachao beti padhao, the show has done it all

6) The feel good factor. One problem, a few united people, few plans and the good wins over the evil.

7) Celebration and day outs. The show celebrates everything. It helps. I dont know why and how but almost all shows get more trps for marriage functions and festival based tracks.

There is hardly any discussion in a comedy shpw forum. TMKoC is the oldest show and even thos forum has limited members. So, IF dont bother to make a forum unless there is a demand. Even Khichdi and even Har Shakh pe Ullu baitha hai dont have forums yet.

There was a shpw calles Neeli Chatri wale. iF archived the forum even before it went off air. It had a few members still. Another show Kishan Kanhaiya forum ha only one member other than me.This is the poor state of comedy show forums

Unlike in smart slapstick comedies where one misses the fun if one is not attentive, tmkoc is slow and predictable. The whole family can relate to characters as there is something for every one. Kids like tappu and his friends and also dadaji, women like the wives, men like Jetha and his friends.
