^It all depends on what stage he is in and how aggressive the cancer is. I know people who have recovered and are still cancer-free 10-15 years after the original diagnosis so it's possible.

The biggest problem with cancer is that it tends to return. You're considered in remission if you've remained cancer-free for 5 years. But many times it comes back even after that. It always leaves you with a lot of stress and tension because there's never any guarantee.

I dont know abt neuro endocrine cancer but 2 ladies I know had breast cancer survived and still doing well, cancer did not return
On the other hand, 3 other people I knew died of other types of cancer.
Pancreatic cancer is the most dangerous as few people survive it, Steve Jobs died of that one
Suchitra Sen had leukemia in her 40s, she went to US that long ago and got cured completely and she lived for many years after that
So yeah, hoping and praying Irrfan's treatment also works (now so many new meds and treatment are there for cancer treatment nowadays
Prayers of strength for his family too.

True, even I know people whose cancer has returned & I know a lady who passed away within a year because her cancer was too spread for her to be saved. I meant do you or Pallavi know about his type of cancer? Is it an "easier" cancer in terms of chemo/treatment etc?

Cancer prognosis (whatever type it may be) depends on the stage at which it is diagnosed. The late the stage the more chances that it has metastasized (i.e. spread off to other parts) and is difficult to control.

^Same. I know someone who had bone cancer and is completely fine and healthy even 15 years after the diagnosis. I know a woman who is in her 90s now who had breast cancer in her 60s. Her son died from natural causes but she's still alive and doing okay! Then there is someone I know who had mouth cancer (non-smoker) and had radiation therapy (no chemo) and was cancer-free within like 3-4 months. Unfortunately the cancer returned again after 7-8 years and he died soon after.

Cancer is crazy. You never know what can happen. Even people who have recovered always have fear and stress because it tends to come back.

No idea abt Neuroendocrine cancer, nobody I knew had it

Most cancer recovery depends on what stage they diagnose it
If its in its last stage then little chance of being saved, but if diagnosed in early stages, it can be cured or go into remission.

How does the time line/who started the thread matter? Anyways you come off as a hypocrite, talking like this here and gossiping about alleged abortions in the other one. Clicks, likes are all the same. Ciao.
