There is a lot of patriarchy and regressiveness ingrained in people's minds. So they should think twice before saying something so that it does not come out as offensive.

I don't really know if Sinha meant to be condescending to Jaya; he considers her his friend after all. But the fact that he mentions that she is the wife of Amitabh Bachchan before her other attributes and belittles her own individual achievements - that itself shows where his thoughts are stemming from.

Hence it is very important that such messages should be scrutinized and criticized.
