Let's take a moment to look at this - CT tells Ratan that he should've also mortgaged the ring that Diya had given him... Ratan says nothing and then when alone he remembers the ceremony when she gave him the ring... And says to himself taht when Diya will leave him due to hate the ring will be the onky memory he'll have of her...
Umm... I don't normally make generic comments but well no one holds onto keepsakes from people they don't really love and will miss dearly... He already know how much he is gonna miss his Diya... He already has ensured to hold onto something that will remind him of his best friend... And did anyone else notice how very sad he sounded when he was thinking about her going away...
You know what this means??? He's just right there!!! On the edge... One nugde and he'll fall... Deep into the never-ending abyss of love... He cares for and he knows it... He'll miss her and he knows it...He's ready to sacrifice his image in frontof her knowing that after that he'll lose his one true best friend ... Yet he's doing it for the sake of her happiness...
That ring scene though very short, has a very deep meaning and significance... It has successfully portrayed how Ratan really wants to not lose Diya yet is willingly driving her away for her sake... He knows he'll desperately miss her that he's trying to cling onto one last memory of hers that he'll treasure forever...
