Some might find this post silly, but after watching about 400 episodes now I have this question. What's the purpose or concept of this show?? Do they want naamkaran of an illegitimate kid or are they trying to say it doesn't matter, which one is it??
I've watched this show right from the beginning, barring just a few episodes. When the show first started, it was very clear about a 10-year-old girl wanting recognition for herself and her mother in this society and it stayed true to its concept. It was a battle of a 10-year girl against her grandmother to get her identity.
Yet when the first leap of 15 years started, it was very clear the grownup Avni had taken her mother's name as she herself revealed during the big revelation in front of Neil. Also, the sole purpose of her return was to get her brother Aman Ayesha back and not Amol Mehta. By this time, she didn't want anything to do with the Mehta family, except get her revenge for her mother's death and all the troubles she faced because of them. She never wanted recognition or her surname at this point in her life. This clearly proved she wasn't looking for her naamkaran. So, how is the concept applied here.
Now coming to the after-marriage phase - even if it still was about her naamkaran, she clearly got a surname - Khanna with her perfect loving family and an unconditionally loving lifepartner, who stood with her through thick and thin unlike her father. Though reluctant at first, she eventually happily accepted this and addressed herself as such, Avni Khanna. So, the basic purpose of the show was solved here.
Now with this 10-year leap, I'm really confused as to the purpose of rehashing the illegitimate track again. I mean what's their point - for Avni to do naamkaran for every illegitimate kid she finds?, because clearly Avni says a person doesn't need a surname to prove their worth in the world, they just have to work hard. So where's the concept of naamkaran here. Even if it's now about naamkaran of mishti, why get mishti pregnant to start this track. Kk and Kamini were already for marriage, even if it's just to fake cover the one-night fiasco. Mishti herself is illegitimate, why not just have her looking for her real parents for surname and avneil protecting her from the truth, because if the truth of her parents came out, she would face much worse fate than Avni. Why bring a pregnancy track for this? Now coming to this marriage, what now, kk dumping her at the altar just like ashish Mehta and avniel fighting for the kid's naamkaran??
Accepted the show wants to stay true to its concept, but why rehash something again and again when they already solved the basic essence of the show, that's naamkaran of Avni.
No matter how confusing this leap has been to me, one thing is crystal clear. The leap was definitely not to bring back avniel love story on track as I expected or their journey of finding their way back to each other.
