Baaghi 2 has recorded huge numbers on Sunday with collection set to be 27-28 crore nett. The growth on Sunday will be in the 30% range as mass centers record outstanding numbers with single screens recording full houses.
The weekend of the film will be in the 73 crore nett range and that is among the top fifteen weekends of all time and far better many bigger films be it Raees, Bang bang, Tubelight or Dilwale. If Sunday comes out a bit higher than 28 crore nett then it could even challenge Padmaavat for the highest opening weekend of 2018.
The business of the film is huge across the board from Punjab in the North to Odisha in the East to Kerala in the South to Gujarat in the West.
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani was the highest weekend delivered by a young star (not including M.S.Dhoni - The Untold Story) and that film collected around 62 crore nett and this film has gone ahead by leaps and bounds. The collections are also around 90% ahead of films like Pad Man and Raid over the first weekend.
Bihar has see an all time high weekend of around 3.75 crore nett as single screens record full houses across the circuit. It remains to seen what happens over the weekdays and they should sustain well as appreciation is there across all mass centres.
The metros could drop but the job is more than done and that limited metro audience may not matter that much as the mass centers alone can make the film a BLOCKBUSTER if they sustain well from these high levels.
