Was Babuji a racist? He hated everything about white people, loathed living among them, had firm belief that foreign boys are bigde hue and desi munde are sunder susheel and gharelu types.

Agar itna hi problem tha to UK gaye hi kyun? 😕

Even I have the same question. Amrish Puri settled in UK for so many years, his daughters were almost English and then he expects to turn desi and forget videsi culture in a jiffy.😆

Yeah he expected her to be some bakri to listen to him and do what he wants. I get it he was close to his motherland which is perfectly understandable but he also refuse to fit in with the English culture as if he was kidnapped and taken there on gunpoint. 😆

Half of DDLJ didn't make sense to me at all...who marries off their daughter to someone who she has never met...from London to a village in Punjab and she is supposed to love their for ever and ever...and never come back to London again...😕...Babu ji is the most regressive character I have ever seen...

The part where it was suggested that kids don't run away and marry because they can't hurt their parents who raised them ...or that families approval is also very important when two people are getting married...that was beautiful though...because in India its not 2 people getting married...its 2 families getting married...the movie became a huge BB because that touched most people's hearts...warna Babuji e toh movie doobane mein koi kasar nahi chodi thee😆

There was a lot about bauji that made no sense. Why did he not go back to India for sooo many years? It was based on the 90s not the 60s or 70s where people could not afford to go back home. Unless he was there illegally. In which case dude!!!

Also the over reaction on getting that letter from India was too much. London in the 90s had a lot of Indians living there and plenty of indian restaurants so it's not like he rarely saw anything of indian origin

Oh also why did they sell everything to go back to get their daughter married?
