PART III B
MY YELLOW UMBRELLA
Sunday Morning, rain is falling
Steal some covers, share some skin
Clouds are shrouding us in moments
Unforgettable
You twist to fit the mold that I m in.
Next Morning Shivaay opened his eyes first to the sound of rain still splashing on the roof. Aware of Anika in his arms he shifted back a little and peered at her face. She looked so serene in his arms. Silently looking at her for a good amount of time he carefully got up, to open the curtains of the room. To allow some light in metamorphically thinking, "Every Sunrise softly sings, nothing is ever lost and it just begins again. Hoping for it to be a new beginning for them starting today, he left her sleeping for a little more time & went in with a smile to start his lazy Sunday with his fav. Saira Bano, as Anika loved to call it.
After an hour Anika got up to a beautiful yet dark morning, still raining in bits and pieces. She smiled at how beautifully Shivaay had opened the curtains to flow in some light and let her sleep a little more. Knowing he must be all ready and making themselves breakfast in the kitchen, she got up and changed.
When he entered the room with their breakfast, "Good Morning said he in his beautiful honey coated voice."
And she chirped back, "Good Morning Shivaay!"
"Come you must be hungry, I have got us some breakfast."
They walked in to the balcony that opened up from their room and had breakfast under a big umbrella as she called it with a seating arrangement. The sound of the rain and their chitter chatter blended themselves well for some time. After the breakfast was over Anika helped him in closing the kitchen for the meal. Once done she took his hand in hers and dragged him into her then, before room.
"Where are we going?" said he.
With him behind her as she marched ahead she said, "I need to show you something."
Shivaay analysing the direction of where she was taking him kept quiet as he knew what was coming.
In her old room she made him sit on the sofa and gave him the magic box, urging him to open it. Shivaay hesitant a little, thought it was too early, "You don't have to do this Anika, I need not see"
She kneeled down beside him and with pleading eyes, said "Why, aren't you a part of me? I want you to see...please."
Shivaay still a bit anxious with Anika's past in his hand opened the box with much care n concern. He first saw and smiled at the picture of all three in their happier times and Anika looked up to him and smiled too pointing, "This is the picture of my 4th birthday, See Ma, Pa and Me."
Shivaay was delighted to see Anika's eyes gleaming with happiness as she explained some memories of her 4th birthday. He was now eager to explore the magic box fast.
He saw some Toys that Anika must have played with. Much to his amazement, they were not dolls, they were cars! Fast racing cars! Understanding his thought she explained, "I used to love high speed cars in those days."
Correcting her, " You mean racer cars right?"
Rolling her eyes, she said, "Haan wohi." Continuing further she explained "whenever we used to go out while other girls wanted dolls and kitchen house, I wanted a high speed car and papa used to be very proud about it. Happy that her daughter was different and liked pace in life."
But her expressions grimed, "But what's the use life suck out my happiness in the same speed!"
And Shivaay heart crashed seeing her sad again, "Anika, look at me."
Still kneeling down she looked into those beautiful green eyes that now looked happier after the last night, "Did you know?"

Understanding want he wanted to convey she urged him to open the next thing, the wrappers of Dairy Milk! Anika eyes widened at the seeing some food and Shivaay smiled as she went in search for a dairy milk kept in her room "I didn't know that you loved those?"
While she searched for them in the room and got one for them, he asked "Where did u get those from?"
"That's not important Shivaay" said she standing above him. She further went and sat on his knees facing him and offered him a piece holding it in her mouth quite casually. Urging him to bite into the other half, which Shivaay did quite surprisingly.

While sitting on his lap she now gave him the letter that her father had written for her and asked him to read it aloud. Holding her close he began reading it absorbing the meaning behind every word that formed into a sentence. He realised as he cradled her close that she quite resembled her father in spirit. She was like the wind, open and free. That's why whenever he caged her she retaliated with equal strength, like a tornado in the ocean. Thank God, he never tried to transform her once they both accepted their marriage. Also he realised because she was like the wind, she always chose to be beside him. No wonder she was the support to the Great Wall of SSO.
Lost in his thought as he read the letter, he felt ,She was carefree, the one with both hustle and the heart, glowing the most. Their initial days came to his mind. She always understood ambition was more important than approval and that's what made her glow. She stood out among the other girls for him because she didn't care to fit in. Nothing or nobody could ever dim their light. Instead she taught him how to drown and feel the things above the sky.
But he was sad about one thing, after marriage, somewhere her ambition had diminished. The girl who was once proud of being a working woman in all circumstances had been reduced to just manging their lives. He made a mental note to push her to plan her career more diligently now with him by her side.
As he read the letter to her she realised she was her daddy's daughter grown up to be just like him. Smiling as she rested on Shivaay's shoulder she knew she was always living carefree before god and thus was his favourite child. Setting and wearing the watch of her father at the current time she said to self, "off the storms God had given in her life, he also had given her the calm and peace in terms of Shivaay and like her father said she had to grace this blessing and continue with life.
Last two things left in the box now, were her mother's sarees and the photograph of the complete family. To which Shivaay, asked her "Who is the other girl in the photograph? As far as I remember one of those days in the middle of the night, you have been speaking a name called..."
"What name? "asked she.
Shivaay tried hard to remember, and finally came with it! "Chutki!"
"Hmm... Strange when I went to see more at Uncle's house I heard the name Chutki too as two girls played in the verandah."
"May be you have a sister?"
With this she got up from his hold & her eyes, grew wide with hope, "We need to find her Shivaay! God know where she would be and how she is now. We need to find her now."
"We will find her Anika, give me some time. But I promise we will find her soon!"
With happy tears in her eyes she went in the closet to find the final element of the Magic Box. Her mother's saree. Shivaay confused with whats coming next stood silent at where she had left him. She came to him and draped her mother's saree around them, signifying the completeness that she felt within, after letting him be part of her past. Happy to be around her he held her in his embrace by the waist, under the blessing of Anika's parents in all the form they had. He thanked his stars to be able to guide her towards what was Anika's for all these years.
As she held him by his shoulder under her parent's blessings, the heavy rains showered outside reminding her of their challenges ahead. She didn't ask God for lighter rains because she knew Shivaay will leave no stone unturned to find her sister, the only person from her family alive. Instead she thanked God for having Shivaay in her life. Hence, away from the world under their embrace she held him closer & looked into those beautiful eyes, which meant the world to her. Finally kissing him longingly, she conveyed, "You are the silver lining to my dark clouded days. So thank you for being my Yellow Umbrella. Reuniting themselves back into their own world.
