Dont know why people are saying DTPH is not for sridevi..😕 she is the best dancer ever in BW...just imagine the face off dance between sri and others...

^ I don't think Sridevi was ever the best dancer, but I will say that she was competent enough to pull off the dancing in the film. And I also really liked her energy with SRK. If Sri was in DTPH she would've been fabulous. But also, Madhuri was perfect as Pooja.

Yes, Urmila was offered the role of Nisha (Karisma's role).

I didn't know she shot for the film until about 2 years ago when I bought that old movie mag from ebay 😆 - then I saw it elsewhere online too.

I don't know why she walked out. But it's so interesting that Karisma had signed up for Judaai, but they ended up "swapping".

she may pull off pooja in her own way n charm like she always does...n yes the face off would be epic...but then to be honest sridev-srk has no chemistry... at least he has a chemistry with madhuri but none with sridevi...the chemistry factor will fall flat...pooja is tailor made character for madhuri

Yashji signed her after Lamhe. He offered her Aaina and Darr, which she both declined. She said she would have done Darr if offered the negative role of SRK. Of course, then the character would terrorize Sunny.

DTPH was meant for Madhuri and Juhi (originally).

As far as I am aware, DTPH was first called Tevar and the original casting was SRK, Madhuri, and MANISHA. Manisha declined so it went on to Juhi who also declined it as she didn't want to play second fiddle. After that, Kajol was offered but she didn't like the role. Then it went to Urmila, but for the same reason, she ended up doing Judaai instead of DTPH. Karishma was the 5th choice for the role.

But yes, Madhuri was always first choice for Pooja.
