Ishita saw the person with questioning eyes when he spoke " hi ,I m Raman Kumar bhalla ,I live in flat no.524 ".
I- and mine is 525 .
R- thats why I asked na ,you are our new neighbors.
I- oh ,yeah we shifted two days back only .
She spoke fishing something in her bag, soon she took out the keys of her flat , Raman saw her hands were still shivering ,noticing that he forwarded his hand for help and asked " may I".
She nodded and passed the key to him ,he took it and asked opening the lock " you live alone here ".
I- no ,my parents too live with me , they have gone to our old house to bring rest of our things which is left there .
R- ohh and siblings .
I- my sister is already married ,she lives in chennai with her in-laws ,my brother is studying in London .So I m all alone witg my parents .
R- ohh.
He wanted to know more about her but thought this is enough for first meeting. till now he has opened the door and signalled her to go inside ,she entered the house ,he passed her the keys and was going when she asked " will you like to have coffee ".
R- no its ok ,you are already looking too exhausted ,you go and rest . My mother must be waiting for me .
I- ohh ,waise thank you so much Mr Raman . if you were not there ,don't know what would had happened . I m so thankful to you.
R- don't thank me for that ,anybody would had done this ,who ever would had been in my place . Now go and rest .
Saying so he turned to go ,then again turned and asked " you didn't told your name to me ".
I- its Ishita ,Ishita iyer Chandra .
R- ishita ,nice name .bye ,take care.
I- thank you once again .
R- u r welcome ,waise you can take my and my family help whenever its needed .
I- thats so nice of you .
Saying so he turned to go then again turned and spoke " call your parents ,if they will take time to return ,you can come to my house ,meet my ma ,you will feel good talking to her ".
I(smiling )- thats so nice of you Mr Raman but I m tired now ,want to rest for sometimes .
R- ohh ,ok then its ok .but feel free for ask for help .
I- will surely do that.
Both bid adieu to each other and went into their flat .Raman rang the bell and his mother opened the door , she saw him and asked " what happened puttar why are you looking so disturbed and exhausted ".
R- nothing like that ma ,I m good . you know new neighbors had come in next flat .
T- yeah ,some south Indian family has come ,I had talked to the lady yesterday but couldn't talk much as they were busy in shifting .
R- you know they had a daughter ishita ,who is pregnant .
T- may be I didn't talked much ,but how do you know .
R- I met her in lift just now .
T- ohh .
R- you know same was about to happen with her what happened with sweety (Raman's sister ).
T- thats why you are looking so tensed .
R- haan ma ,she was also about to fall on her tummy but I saved her ,wonder if someone had held my sweety also ,she couldn't had suffered miscarriage and this miserable life .
He spoke with tear filled eyes . They were about to talk some more but stopped noticing, sweety coming towards them . Raman saw her coming and spoke composing himself " sweety will you make ginger tea for me ,kitni achchi tu banati his ma cannot ".
Sweety smiled and went to make tea for all of them while mother and son sat there ,talking about the one of the unfortunate day of their life .
About a year ago ,sweety was six months pregnant and was coming to her parents house with her brother Raman . She was about to stay in bhalla house till her delivery as per the custom of delivery of first baby in parents house . Raman stopped the car in the society and sweety got down from the car ,he told her to go home ,till he will park the car and come with her luggage . Sweety nodded and went to lift ,she entered the lift and before Raman reaches the lift went upstairs and sweety was alone in the lift . it reached the fifth floor and when she was coming out from the lift her leg got stuck and she fell on the ground . She screamed aloud ,all came out listening to her scream and soon she was rushed to hospital where her miscarriage was announced as well as doctor told that she cannot bear child in future as her womb got hurt due to injury . Sweety was in worst condition but neighter her husband nor her in-laws ,non come to see and console her father they broke relationship with bhalla's and send divorce paper for her . Since then sweety was living with them.
Raman and Toshiji was in tears ,while Raman was cursing himself for not able to take care of his sister .
