We as humans do not love just a body. While physical appearance does play a factor in love, love is an emotion. And emotions do not depend on physical appearance or presence.
People can genuinely connect with common interests in a non-physical manner. People can genuinely find themselves attracted to personality traits. That is why it is completely possible to fall in love without actually meeting someone. In fact sometimes in the Victorian era courtships took place exclusively through letters without two people having actually met each other.
Coming to Saajan.
I can see a case for both breaking up with and staying with Aakash.
Aakash lied about who he was. The basis of their relationship is a lie. That is a huge breach of trust to get over. There is also his whole past as a womanizer to deal with. So it is not as shocking that she breaks up with him.
On the flip side, he never had any malicious intent. She develops a genuine, loving relationship with him. She enjoys his company and personality. So it makes sense if she chooses to continue and see where it goes.
Similarly, I can see a case for choosing Aman or walking away.
She has not just loved Aman's poems, she has corresponded with him. She had genuine affections for his personality. Much of her love for Aakash stems from her feelings towards Aman's pen name Sagar. So it makes sense that after breaking up with Aakash she wants to give this relationship a go.
On the flip side, Aman lies too. He is insecure about his disability. That combined with his affection for Aakash makes him a part of the web of lies too. By encouraging Aakash to pose as Sagar and deceiving Pooja, he strips Pooja of the right to choose which man she loves. He makes that decision for her. That is unacceptable.
In my opinion she should have dumped both men and moved on.
