Vedika and Sahil - So close, yet so far

What wonderful written screenplay packed with loads of punch but without being OTT, executed beautifully. The characters stays closer to their age and sketch, especially when Sahil talks to Arya. That was NO adult to adult conversation, it was a conversation between friends and equals. The actors... Suhasi and Karan totally owned the episode along with Arya. Suhasi had less dialogues but conveyed her emotions beautifully through her eyes. What can I say... words fail me!! 👏👏👏

Sahil's journey towards Vedika started from their first meet in the restaurant. He was initially attracted and even jokingly asked her if he could hug, kiss and take her to his room, is that a first in ITV 😃. But with him getting to know her he fell in love with her so much that it was instinctive for him to put her needs ahead of his at all times. His respect for her grew leaps and bounds and she inadvertently became his teacher and guide. He would not listen to anyone, is totally selfish but for her and with her he is totally selfless, she before him, ALWAYS, and anything she says is gospel to him. Even yesterday it is the respect and love that wins over his instinct that she is doing something against her wish. She constrains himself, but he gives her the freedom to choose. So similar yet so different.

What a journey it has been for Sahil from attraction to loving to respecting this woman. And why not... Vedika is so perfect she automatically commands respect. She does not demand anything for herself and the only thing that she wants, is to live in peace, be respected by the society and not be judged by it.

Vedika has always cared about Sahil, initially like a mentor but slowly started depending on his support. He had always moved her emotionally and could always get her to react, she never reacts 😃.

When Vedika punished him by distancing herself from him... the first time she refuses to eat till he was back home. And what does he tell her? if she keeps thinking about the society, when would she think about her happiness? Sums up Vedika beautifully Her view about Sahil changes too with time. She thought of him to be a brash, careless and arrogant youngster. But was the one to see his layers, was the one to console him when he cried after seeing his mother sick and the fight with Badi Amma. When he helps her in his quirky, funny way and brings colors in her life. Makes her smile and relax. Somewhere deep down she deeply cares for him. But this was a nameless relationship. She always had an inkling about Sahil's feelings for her but when it comes out, she freezes. Be it at the school or at the V'day restaurant. She was kind of like in a trance. Had to put in effort to get herself to think with her brain.

She probably was not in love with Sahil but we could see that it would not be all that difficult to fall for him, if she lets herself free to feel. What she is not letting herself feel consciously comes out in her dream. She thinks about Sahil when she should be thinking of her daughter and have made a decision after having talked to her daughter. Sahil shakes the ground beneath her... always has and will. The only reason she agreed to this marriage in the first place was to run away from Sahil and his love.

What she was starting to understand has come out so starkly in yesterday's episode after Sahil saves Arya, without Vedika having to tell him anything. She was with Gautham the whole night but the assurance and security that she felt with Sahil even over a mere phone call, she could never feel with Gautam sitting next to her. The way he talked to Arya was love, he made her realize what she has done to her mother and how bad it could all have turned out and even manages to convince her to accept the marriage. The way Vedika was staring at those two was so moving. That truly looked like a perfect family.

There is longing in her eyes... she notices Sahil's wound but would not even dare bandage it till her mother asks her to. Give him an inch, he will take a mile... that is how much he affects her. . Sahil will not let Vedika thank him and she needs no sorry from him. She knows he would not do anything to hurt Arya. She could not even manage to talk or look into his eyes when she was bandaging his wounds. Love? Hell NO 😆

While the barriers for her are society and age, she feels she is totally wrong for Sahil who has a whole lifetime ahead, his interests will change with age and any relationship between them will be too hard to bridge the divide, that is caused by their age gap and experience. We cannot really blame her as any sane woman will think that way and that is the advice her mom gives her too. But when Sahil's whole world revolves around her the equation that applies to the world could never really apply to them. Could it?

She again tries to distance herself from Sahil... she has to, as she has come to a point where she will not be able to hold herself back for long, somethings gotta give. But, she does not want to marry Gautam anymore and who could blame her! She has seen the lover, friend, father and protector in Sahil and there is no comparison of that with Gautam. She falters when she says that she is not refusing to marry Gautam because of Sahil, all the while she could not take her eyes off of the sleeping form of Sahil. And every time she talks about leaving Sahil there is a depth of emotion in her that makes her shed tears. Those tears were not for Arya but for the loss of Sahil.

She made him stay away from her once before and he met with an accident. How much that affected her. She is doing it again in a bigger way, marrying Gautam, ignoring her instincts and premonitions. She is instinctively bound to know when Sahil is in danger and the only way to save him is by not marrying Gautam.

This time when the accident is serious and she actually comes very close to loosing him totally, will she throw caution to the wind and do all the things that she swore not to do? Me thinks she will. We are most likely to see their marriage.

One more thing.. I feel dat mite b not sure Gautham is respinsible for Vedika's husband's death.. Since hez so obsessed wid her so may b he mite hve murdered him😕

Even when talking to her mom or when she sees Sahil talking to Arya it's all about how much she is in love with him. But is constrained in her own mental prison. Her mom could easily read her and Sahil both. So I guess Vedika is going to get all kinds of apshagun in the marriage. Thanks to Sahils good bye.

It's one thing for her to say good bye and another to hear it from him.
