Who gave you the right or authority to judge? Who are you to shame anyone? I guess he is losing his designs and fame and hence venting his frustration. Women will wear whatever they like just as you can wear whatever you like. Draping a saree or not cannot be a parameter to knowing or respecting your cultural roots. Actions define that. Use your energies in creating rather than passing off ridiculous statements.
I know how to drape a saree but find it cumbersome to manage besides its exposing too much and directs attention towards the body. Its easier to walk, run, climb or jump in trousers, jeans or salwar suits than a saree. Although despite revealing mid riff its considered a decent attire😆 and the woman is considered full of Indian values!

One can choose Mumtaz way or Jaya Badhuri way 😆.

Exactly, this is the only outfit that be worn as per the wish and changed each time the person wears it. Rest all are locked once stitching is done 😆

@Bold: Do you live in India? If yes, then I am surprised. Isn't it like a basic knowledge one must possess? Not wanting to wear it is just an after-thought and nobody should be forced to do something that goes against their personhood. At home I've been trained( same is the case with most South Asian and Asian immigrant households) since childhood to converse in my mother tongue(so as to not forget one's roots) whereas the cousins in India speak English at home. I've always thought that's kinda weird.

@bold there lies the problem.

People should stop assuming that every woman living in India knows how to drape a sari. It is NOT so. Even in villages.

I wear sari once in a year that too for 30 mins during Laxmi Pooja .
I wore it last year for my best friend's engagement.
Other wise I don't.

I know girls who like saris and go to parlor and get draped in 100 bucks. They do for college traditional days or farewell or some ceremony. Not very often.

Hope it's clear now. :)

India is overwhelming even for Indians.
It's so rich and has such a varied culture that every state will have a different traditional attire. Punjabi is diffrerent, the seven sister states are different. They may not even wear saris there.

Clearly sabya wants to climb the bandwagon of the right

Shame on me as I don't know how to wear a sari...And who said if you believe a country you should wear their uniform? I wonder what he would be wearing in school? I've never seen schools asking the female students to wear a sari and male students to wear dhotis and now he'll blame schools for destroying the roots of the country? Wondering from when clothes define the culture of the person. It's their thoughts that define them instead.
