EDT~ ep. 72~30.1.18 Keep your friends close & your enemies closer
Famous saying regards the intimacy one maintains with friend and foe?. Thought provoking too, as it creates discord in one's expectations and beliefs, especially with regards to the word close. One keeps friends close as common interests , affection, loyalty and mutual support prompts the nearness. On the other hand the saying suggests one keeps one's foe closer, than the friend. Since to be familiar with the foes, strengths and weaknesses keeps one protected against being taken by surprise. The saying also is not foul proof against the scenario where one may be betrayed by a friend, rather than a suspected foe..
With regards to today's episode Vyom's shrewd lines sets the tone for me. Day in and day out in his highs and lows, the man shows full behavioural awareness of all who he deems for and against him. This in turn allows him to detect, deflect,or dispose of any malicious actions or persons coming his way.
In the past he was a friendly foe? then he changed shape and most certainly became a foe. But destiny hurled them towards each other, and Shiv becomes Sharanya's most trusted companion. With friends one shares complicated scenarios with the hope of receiving some guidance. Both are agreed, Freddy's out of turn, contrary behaviour leaves them baffled. Instead of identifying Vyom as Shiv' s killer. Freddy ends up being manipulated by Vyom, that he is stark raving mad!and thus in need of immediate treatment under the care of Bedi household! Like always, Shiv objects and easily tells Sharanya as it is.. let's face it Vyom is one smart foe they are up against! Shiv and Sharanya's bond of love and friendship is not in need of the word close to each other.. they are two souls merged into one. Shiv's strength is he was never afraid to challenge her reactions.It's like , he tries to make Sharanya see what if they might be jumping the gun ?? by outright accusing Vyom? he might be clean??? True friends sometimes throw the spanner in the works too! something tells me Sharanya might not be impressed by Shiv's view!
The son keeps his father close, even if it means telling Rajan, yes as his son Vyom only follows the guidelines set up by the father. Vyom clearly supersedes his fathers suggestion of where Freddy should receive his treatment? Rajan wants to play it safe. But Vyom's insecurity holds him back from letting Freddy out of his sight. Rajan wants to keep Vyom close.. because Vyom has the potential to stitch his own father up too! In fact both father and son lack faith in each other. It's a case of holding a foe closer!
Vyom actually proves it , by throwing in his dead pan confession.. he pushed his mother down the stairs.Vyom is actually testing the waters! wants to ascertain his father's reaction! We all know Vyom already committed the act. Rajan of course falls on him like a ton of bricks! Which is amusing as Vyom knows full well how his father treats his mother! Rajan loses the plot, and within seconds Vyom too changes his performance! Dons the distressed only son who adores both his mum and dad! Vyom in fact, completely turns the tables and warrants Rajan's sympathy for himself! Basically he dupes his father too,who prefers to keep his accomplice in his crimes boy all happy and calm! How Vyom wipes his fake tears when Rajan leaves.. they speak about his hoax act, Vyom words, sum up the truth about him.. its his story ,and others around him are the characters of his story. Who so ever is with him, is a friend, and all against him are his foes! Who will have to exit from his story!!
Out of the two , Sharanya was always the reactionary motor mouth! while Shiv, lofty man was the quiet giant! Even now as in the past the feisty little lady mesmerised him ,despite the mudslinging episode. Shiv looks up at her agitated face! It was Vyom like the old days topic of discussion between them. Sharanya wants more of his input on what Vyom is up to? But Shiv just delights in her ever present curiosity to crack riddles! Fed up Sharanya yells, has the cat got your tongue???? Her words take him back to their happy days!
Minding his own business, exam over, he sorts his bike to head home ,and lo and behold! Miss feisty turns up with her cocky apology. He recalls, hearing her did make him mad, but he preferred to seal his lips, which started her motor mouth! how she had moaned, has the cat got your tongue? Not even a thank you for the apology ? bemused Shiv recalls with a sided face, his disquiet made her go into an uproar!
Out of fun, he recalls his caustic comments of the likes of her come to college. But leave their grey matter at home! How he had lashed back at her, that she was nothing but Vyom's puppet.. dances to his strings! He must have asked her to say sorry! Personally Shiv recalls telling her, as for him, he goes more for girls who use their own brains rather than dance to others tunes!
He remembers she fumed even more but he enjoyed this hate you! pitched altercation between them. So wild she was that she struck him with her plastic protractor! Which split against his bulging biceps! Making her go berserk! Thank heavens she stormed off! and his back to her Shiv gave the broadest of smiles. She soiled him with muddy water ,yet unknowingly washed and livened his wounded spirit! Shiv had laughed after he turned to look back at her.. she stood their glaring at him, waiting for a thank for him...he looked the other way and realized he was all smiles that exam day! What a stormy start to their journey on the sea of life.. but Shiv smiles.. why does his heart feel for the very first time in life, that smooth sailing will come ahead?? Shiv holds this so called foe close to his heart!
Shiv was right,Sharanya retreated back to Vyom's camp whinged about Shiv who she mocked as Eiffel tower! Vyom as always loved smoothing her ruffled feathers! Sharanya moaned the rude man! gave her attitude. Vyom wants to have words with the lofty man .But Sharanya nips Vyom's bravado in the bud!when she reminds him that their height difference is sure to pose a problem! Vyom replies to his buddy Sharanya... he prefers that both him and her of a similar height... he can stare directly at her.Rather than having to look up and down.. yes that's how Vyom takes it even now.. Sharanya his once friend, then love, now wife is just right for him!!
Looking down at Shiv staring up dreamily into her face makes Sharanya say the very lines from yester years..he is are nearly normal, but for his lack of emotions!
Vyom responds to her spoken words in space! Shiv once again chuckles, tells her some jinx upon her past recollections, they always happen at the wrong time! Vyom gets up close to her and whispers feelings?? in Sharanya's ear over her shoulder. Vyom keeps his foe closer. Sharanya's presence of mind comes in handy as she smiles nervously and replies to her once friend now foe! that how well he knows her feelings, that she too wanted him to keep Freddy here. and get him treated! Vyom too shares his feelings with his suspected foe ? reminds Sharanya that Freddy is kept here, as he might also reveal Ram's killer too! his idea is to keep an upper hand over his foes!
Chandni is the foe within the family. She has her own cut out agenda to do with getting a big chunk of inheritance for her son. Her conversation with Rati is more about taunting Rati than consoling her. Chandni is no friend of Sharanya and as such her purpose is to instigate Rati against Sharanya that two people were in the warehouse. Sharanya is alive and about, but Vidyut has vanished without a trace.she feeds the idea, who knows maybe Sharanya might have killedVidyut??? The scene is included in the episode to remind us of the palace politics in Bedi house from the women's side. Also to remind us that Vidyut s unexplained disappearance is another unsorted issue.
Sharanya continues to hold on to Madhvi ,sees her as a friend and well wisher. Once again Sharanya tries to prise information about Shiv's death but Madhvi is clearly terrified. She chides Sharanya for acting like a tv heroine, showing overly yet fake concern for others! Madhvi's reference to tv.. was to alert Sharanya to the fact that the room had a camera installed. Frustrated she chucks a glass at Sharanya! Shiv turns up ready to protect Sharanya .. she collects the shattered glass on the floor and warns Shiv.. don't do anything there's a camera in operation!
Sure enough Vyom keeps a close eye on his foes.. Freddy, Rajan,Sharanya and Madhvi his very own mother, ready to spill the beans before Sharanya! He does wonder checking the cctv footage on the monitors.. there's no other person in the room, then who is Sharanya speaking too??? hamlet53 31.1.17
Overall some respite in the episode from previous grim content.. Vikram, Donal and Vyom refresh us by the after exam on campus scene.Namik's smile have to say is dynamic and vibrant..changes his whole face. Donal looked radiant in the on campus scene. Who is Shiv's killer is dragging on a bit...
