EDT~ ep. 71~29.1.18 My stance: To pocket a jack knife!
A nifty small arm, that folds away neatly into its handle when not in use and slides comfortably into one's back pocket. Harmless on the face of it , but a jackknife can also act as large knife with more than one foldable blades. Traditionally used for camping and outdoor activities. But may be carried by members of the public in urban areas to ward off antisocial elements. All in all to me the jack knife is a tool which can turn into a lethal weapon. However this pocket knife is marked by its inconspicus foldable size and appearance, when compared to other arms like the pistol, revolver.
The episode itself flicks out like a jack knife glaringly in our faces, enough to alarm us by the brazenness of both father and son. On the face of it they keep one public face before Sharanya and her mother, congenial and composed. However within themselves they are doubled up like a pair of pocket knives. Holding concealed sharp blades between themselves, enough to endanger their foes lives!
Rajan was bent before, with empty threats at his wife, but now its time to flick an open threat at Madhvi about really carrying out his threats of killing her if she discloses that her son and husband colluded to finish off Shiv! Its interesting how he plays the senior mistress of the household card bowled off her by her novice daughter in law! Setting up woman against woman! When that fails Rajan flicks the blade of their own matrimony card with his reference to his sacred mangalsutra around her neck! Next he flicks the blade of her maternal love for Vyom's only true love interest! But the wife ,mother, blades, are less threatening than the final one , the actual fear of losing her life! Rajan the civilized knife wielding husband!
The son is no different to the father.. continues with his jack knife act against a dead Sadhvi. Vyom remembers all to well the dead sage's words, just before he slashes her throat..that Sharanya belongs to Shiv! The sage is dead! But her words still live in his mind to send him into a frenzy. What he couldn't say to her before he reiterates now! he loves Sharanya and she belongs to him! not even Sharanya can make him bend on that one! If she does! he will flick out the jack knife at her too! by the time he slaps himself to stop his mouth.. his passion for Sharanya ,enough to quieten her opposition! Already escapes his dark mind! Vyom's words. a son can kill his mother, yet give her medication, is all symbolic of the pocket knife.. use it in one sharp go, fold it away subtly , tuck it away as if one is totally normal and low key!
Odhni too, chops and changes her plan by ensuring that Freddy reaches Sharanya with crucial evidence about Shiv'murder and Sharanya's past. By sheer presence of mind Odhni puts up a fight against Vyom's henchmen!but when needs be, she too , unobtrusively folds away her drive in the recesses of her jack knife of Freddy meeting Sharanya!
Who can escape Vyom the flicked open jack knife. It's like now his love for Sharanya is the talk of the town, according to him. For poor Freddy!he is out of the fire pan into the fire! Freddy comes in front of Vyom's car. Sirens ring in Vyom's mind, potential foe who can separate him from Sharanya! Vyom very nearly run's him over ! just a flick of the blade, silence or else! Will Freddy open his mouth now??
The jack knife, folded and pocketed. Vyom meets and greets Suman and Nawab. All is normal. Shiv on guard hovers around Sharanya. The scene is pure discretion between the suspects and the accusers. The two victims, invisible Shiv and visible Freddy ,both play it by ear. Freddy is unexpectedly wheeled into the room.. much to Vyom's horror! Its quite a show, where Freddy by his body language unhinges Vyom! In the scene Sharanya and Shiv too expect some high voltage drama revelation! Vyom to go down by Freddy's accusation! Which ironically would be correct! But Vyom always keeps his pocket knife handy! Fumbles in his back pocket.. but it 's Vyom's piercing big bold black eyes that pull out the blades right into Freddy's eyes! Should he open his mouth! FB reveals both father and son involved.. but what concerns Freddy into turning his complete convicting the killer act, into a mad song and lunatic dance skit is Vyom's threat, that he would kill Sharanya!
Shiv and Sharanya high hopes are dashed, Freddy adapts his plan, folds his jack knife into some demented digression act. To save another's life instead of his!
Vyom and Rajan, act the smooth devil's advocate, appears the poor man has lost his marbles! Rajan taunts, Freddy here is a highly valuable witness! He may even know.. who killed Sharanya's dad! Rajan suggests sending Freddy back to the mental asylum with guaranteed treatment. The son disagrees. As Freddy escaped from there. Vyom wants Freddy treated at Bedi house.. where he can be threatened! or stabbed eventually. It is noticeable how Rajan pinned murder charges on Odhni after hearing that Freddy is Odhni's friend. Rajan also tries to win Suman and Sharanya's support by hopefully getting more information from Freddy about who killed Ram? The scene is a fine example of an unused, unleashed, pocket knife. Where danger only lies folded in the recess of Vyom and Rajan's unscrupulous minds and hearts!
Shiv and Sharanya keep their jack knives hidden away in the pockets of their minds. Both are aware all is not well. Things are far from what they seem? Both agree Vyom is ten steps ahead of them. Keeping Freddy right under their noses under the deceptive show of concern about his welfare, does alert Shiv and Sharanya.. how will Sharanya get access to the information about her past and Shiv?? But what comes across clearly in the episode ,that if Freddy has folded the jack knife.. its like Odhni ,and Shiv to protect Sharanya's life at Vyom's hands. That are forever are ready to wield or stab with his nifty, insignificant jack knife! Hamlet53 30.1.18
The episode is another reiteration of the fine and equally hard to catch out duplicity of Rajan and Vyom.They appear credible, civilized and command Sharanya's respect...although now, she begins to doubt their credibility. Precap.. a wedge seems to occur between father and son.. this wedge may just bring about their downfall. Rajan protests, if only he knew about who pushed his wife? Vyom in a dead pan expressionless face confesses he did! Does Rajan realize his son is out of mind? Shiv again warns Sharanya this guy is mad enough to kill his own mother! think what he can do with anyone else?
