In fact, even Sameer will have a better understanding of Naina's circumstances now. Naina's reaction on that hill top was of a heart filled with love wanting to comfort a friend. However, in the aftermath of what followed...she sees it all as tainted. She is unlikely to see it as anything else until she has an ability to see beyond herself at the moment. She has kept her grief a central theme for now...

Lovely post Rekha. Even better that it brought Soupster out of the woodwok😆

I am just able to HHBB for now.

This might come up if & when Arjun sees Sameer is making genuine efforts to mend things & repenting for his actions but again Naina & Arjun have not connected the paper stealing issue as the cause of the incidents that followed and lead up to the bet. The loving protective brother will find it more challenging to forgive Sameer for hurting his sis and might hold grudges longer & harder than Naina herself. IF Arjun gets to know the effects of his paper stealing on the lives of other people he will be the next one going into a guilt mode😆 If, when & How to reveal the paper stealing is upto the CVs. I would like to say the team ties all the loose ends & the show doesnt have many loopholes but after conveniently forgetting about the thrashing Sameer got in Mt Abu, who knows 😆

I don't doubt their intention about going back to that aspect..(unless the vagaries of this medium start to make their presence felt more deeply😆.) In my books I see them as two separate events (even if I see one as a precipitating event for the other) because if one rationalises...Sameer may have made the bet because he felt that Naina wilfully accused him of wrongdoing but as he went on a journey of discovery, he actually fell in love with her despite that aspect. So, for somewhere that aspect has ceased to matter to him. He seems to have taken that matter in stride or a matter of misjudgement on Naina's part. Yet the truth is Naina's action of accusing Sameer was a honest mistake at that time but a sin of omission after knowing Sameer is not at fault. She came clean in an opaque manner to Sameer but without addressing the justice in the matter. So this is an intentional hole to be revisited at some stage but how will it be addressed will depend on flow of the narrative at that time. They can make it dramatic or make circumstances the culprit!!😆

About Arjun's role in this repentence...hmmm I can't really say. In that the dynamics between Shefali and Arjun come into play. So far I have seen Arjun reacting to Shefali the most. He seems to be in her thrall.😉..she has the maximum ability to influence. Shefali is a wonderfully written character. In the scene where she senses Arjun being pressurised by Rakesh, she is able to empathise with Arjun but at the same time, she is able to tell Arjun where to get off on the guilt train when he begins to pontificate on the importance of it all. 😆 So I see Shefali playing a role with respect to the Arjun realisation. How it affects this story or their story ...remains to be seen!!

Thank you for your kind words...EDKV was indeed something despite all the pain in the end...wasnt it? 😊

@Bold...Divya, As of now I would put it more to the circumstances in which he has fallen in love rather than any other thing.

Naina...and Sameer's journey in love has been different. In Naina's case...she has sought out this love..she has fallen with the idea of love as much as falling in love with Sameer, so it was expected that Naina's journey would a bit more dramatic than Sameer...who has found love more like a prayer..before he can celebrate it...he was forced to come to terms with the issues surrounding it. If we rewind a bit...when he confided in Nanaji...there was that dramatic song ( in his dreams ofc😆) and he was all agog to pursue Naina with earnestness...but all hell broke loose...so he has been pushed to a corner suddenly until Nanu gave him that hope again. I am not a huge fan of monologues in the narrative as I feel it tends to look out of place when it looks inserted for the viewers rather than for the character..ofc this is my just personal view and viewers may think differently...

As a viewer, you need to ask the question. Are you in doubt that Sameer loves Naina? If yes, why? due to the lack of verbalising or monologues? All I can say is...aren't his actions a clear indication that he is ready to do things the old Sameer may have baulked at? For instance, the Sameer of yore may not have stood to let someone know he is taking leave...today that guy was literally begging for her acknowledgement...if only to be shouted at!! His merriment when his friends tease...the old Sameer would have swatted them off for their drama...today that Sameer revels in it. He is quick to acknowledge that he is the Salim who will rebel to have a glimpse of his Anarkali...Are you still in doubt? 😆😆 who knows some more madness is in store...and I am sure this guy will leave Naina behind in his antics 😉😉

Nandy,
Didn't know you were active here too. 😉
So many familiar names out here!
Only realised when you pointed it out... Ah, yes! They did trivialise the Mt Abu incident.

Rekh,
I agree with you on Naina 's understanding of Sameer 's situation. Naina as a character, has many limitations. She is weighed down by the societal pressures expected from a girl, indebtedness to her extended family that taiji very often reminds her of, and her inability to make herself and her accomplishments matter, to her dad. In fact, she is just a behenji if not for the occasional pearls of wisdom from chachaji that lights her path.

Sameer, on the other hand, is a free bird. He can soar high. He has a friend in his nanaji who is not afraid to let him explore, so he has more scope for growth. He can come and go, observe Naina in her home with her family - Naina will never have that opportunity.

Both have lost their mothers. In some way, Naina can connect with that sense of loss. But she thinks like a girl. It is the way things are, for Naina. She doesn't question her circumstances. She doesn't fight, like Sameer or even Shefali. Chachaji and his family give Naina more than what her father could ever provide, in terms of emotional stability, but even that is an ehsaan. This is a girl who has no one to confide into, unlike Sameer who has his friends and Nanaji to help him connect things.

So Naina is not equipped to know Sameer beyond the superficial layer. She fell in love with a boy who was goodlooking, had an attitude and was the hearthrob of every girl in school. And in spite of her own circumstances, never did she once think of herself as inferior to Sameer. In fact, she was so confident about herself, she felt the need to test if Sameer deserved her.

That confidence makes Naina blind. I think it is thIs aspect of her character that makes her stand out from the rest of the girls and shine. Naina is as close to real as we can get, I suppose.
